   I booked the restaurant before reading some of the reviews here, and was a bit worried. They must have been on a bad day, because my wife and I had an absolutely wonderful meal. We shared a crab cake for an appetizer, then she had the honey glazed salmon and I had the lobster fettuccini. Both were just outstanding. Neither of us managed to finish - the portions were more than adequate. Our server, Katie, was pleasant and attentive. About the only negative I could mention was that the bartender was a bit slow in getting our drunks, but that was very minor. We spent nearly 2 hours having just a delightful meal. Highly recommended.

   The table that was supposed to be ready was dirty and had leftovers. The waitress, Irene was terrible. Awful personality. She made us feel like we were bothering her and looked like did not want to be there. The food was mediocre and cold. We don't mind paying for quality food, but this restaurant is way over priced. Bathroom was dirty and it smelled like it had not been cleaned for weeks. Too bad because the location is spectacular....the food is not and neither is the service. I'm hoping that a good manager can make improvements and changes because people like me will not return or recommend any one.

   My family and I had a very pleasant Sunday afternoon meal overlooking the water. Good well prepared food. Great service.

   We rented a house in Groton Ct for the weekend and we saw Fishermans Restaurant on our way to the house . My husband and I had the most delicious belly clam dinner. Our server was awesome and very accomodating. Our waitress told us about the picture hanging on the entrance wall and we could see the house we were in. Also they had leftover flowers from Valentines and gave me one. Great food and wonderful staff.

   Our waitress was very nice but we waited 45 minutes just to get our appetizers, and then our entrees were not that good. I was disappointed overall.

   I’ve probably posted a total of 10 reviews in my life and this will be the 3rd positive review for the Fisherman. We had a large party of nine (9) of both young and old and Ava, our kind and caring server, performed like a seasoned veteran despite her not having 20+ years under her belt. Those frontline employees are critical in locking down the overall experience and Ava locked us up and threw away the key! Lol. Ava helped us navigate the menu and offered suggestions and workarounds that fit us perfectly. She even delivered a special request to our bartender, apologize for not having her name here :(, and she handled my common, common to me that is, but weird drink request flawlessly. I simply said….”ask your drink-maker to go off-script and make me a bourbon drink of their own creation”. That’s it. Soar high and do what you’ve only dreamed of doing and you know what? She soared above the clouds and delivered a delicious drink that I wouldn’t have known to order myself. You need to try this- it works every time. Now to the main attraction- the food. From the appetizers, to the main dishes, and the deserts, Zach and his team delivered! We all left filled and delighted. Zach has consistently demonstrated since the Restaurant reopened as the “Fisherman Restaurant“ that “he” IS the new OG of this revived gem. I am sure Mr. James Woviotis, the original OG, owner / chef of the Yankee Fisherman who has since passed, would be proud of the work you all are doing. I had the pleasure of working with Mr Woviotis as his mini OG back in the day and learned so much from him. I’d offer Zach a few tips but he’s proven himself very capable and way above the rim for me to be able to lend a helpful tip. We can’t wait to go back and for any of you in or coming through the area, do yourself a favor and stop in to see Zach, Ava and the rest of the crew and tell them the original OG sent you.

   The meals are pricey, but that’s to be expected in keeping with the area. The food was delicious, the portions were nice and the meals came out hot. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. The only drawback was it took a long time to get our drinks. Which was odd as the restaurant wasn’t that busy.

   Our new favorite spot by the water in Groton! Great food, service and ambiance! The berry salad and fish and chips are delicious.

   A recurring place for family meet ups. It's a great spot, fresh seafood, a view of the water and the occasional shoreline train, and Irene is so accommodating.

    Our party of 10 was very pleased with drinks, food and service. The salmon meals, fried Fishermans platter, salads, chowder, and fried calamari were all excellent. Prices were in line with today's prices. Our servers were attentive and very friendly and we never felt rushed. We all would recommend this restaurant highly!
