Very disappointed in the food. Steak was good, but other meals were ordinary & very overpriced.

We had a two-in-one Valentine’s and Birthday celebration dinner with a great and sumptous four course menu made from local produce which we surely enjoyed especially the smoked trout with caviar and eye fillet steak. A special request for a birthday dessert was well accommodated and executed with a birthday song by the friendly staff and enjoined by fellow diners. Lovely food and atmosphere. Must visit at Daylesford!

The menu was limited, incl. Very few children's menu choices. The chips were disappointing, as were the beans that accompanied the filet steak, they seemed blanched, without any seasoning. I used to love Farmers Arms in Daylesford, however, the last few times were a let down. We are local and the local fish and chip shop offers fresher, better chips, at better value. I suggest, being a rather upmarket venue, the chefs need to upskill. We went there for the experience with our overseas visitors, as mentioned, a little disappointing.

Food wasn’t cooked. Pasta was terrible. Drinks were hot not chilled (white wine) Service was great. They need a coffee machine- I love this place and book it a lot so was disappointed- food menu needs changing. I hope it gets fixed as stated it’s a favourite venue.

Really poor value. Limited choices for a vegetarian. I chose the ‘White Polenta, miso, portobellos, truss tomatoes, corn rib, basil, rocket (VE, GF) 32’. A really unsatisfactory dish. Small serve; salty and slightly rancid flavour to the polenta (easy to cook a richly flavoured polenta at home); corn rib was impossible to eat given that it could not be separated from the husk with a knife and could not use my fingers because it was sitting in sloppy polenta. We requested coffees following our lunch but were informed that coffee, other than drip filter, was no longer provided We have dined here previously on several occasions but would not bother again.

We told a staff member we wish to sit outside with our booking,yes all good untill the pub was calling us to see if we were arriving but the staff member didnt inform management that we had arrived and was sitting outside. Menu was small meals available with high prices $47 for steak with fries 🍟 not even a good cut of meat ! This isnt paris ! My pasta was small and tasteless! $32. Table was service was lovely with a young lady but l had lots of questions about things on the menu and she needed to go and ask for answer's regards the menu ! I think staff need to know the menu and ingredients when asked by diners. I feel this was a aussie pub with a french theme with the menu.Our drinks were nice and extra fee for weekend surcharge isnt great to add to a expensive menu ! The staff member went to place cutlery down on a not so clean table without napkins, theses tables are cleaned with a dirty cloth and you want to place my cutlery on the table, wasnt impressed and it happens often. I have dined here before but not sure if we would return again. Merci

Lovely lunch at Farmers Arms Hotel Daylesford - arrived and was greeted, offered a drink and was able to sit outside (arrived early). Beautiful day to sit outside. Went inside and was seated at a lovely table with comfortable seating. Both food and wine menu available. Food was good - ordered steak & frites and chicken salad. Atmosphere good with lots of people sitting at tables but not overly noisy. Staff were very attentive and we would definately go back for lunch or even just a drink outside in the garden area. Lovely country atmosphere - warm and welcoming.
