When booking the reservation the day before, I was happy to see several spots available. We booked a table for 5:15. My older son was in the city, and arrived at the Emmy's early and was seated. My husband, younger son and I were delayed on the Express bus due to traffic and arrived at 5:30. The restaurant had about 4 tables taken, including my son. The waitstaff was very polite, but they were very short staffed. We wish they would have told us this when we were seated. Instead, we overheard the waitress telling the next table (who were seated about 1/2 hour after us, but served before us) that there was one waitress, one bartender and one bus staff for the entire restaurant - on the eve of Thanksgiving! It took about 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive. My cocktail was delicious, but came after the appetizer, which was tasty, but cold. We had to ask several times for a water refill. We continued to wait for our food. At 6:15, we asked them to bring the check with the food, because we had tickets to a show at 7. All the time we were there, other tables were being served. SInce we only ordered a pizza to split, based on the waitress' suggestion, we don't know why our food was so delayed. At 6:40, still no food, so we cancelled the order and rushed to the to the play- very hungry. The experience was very disappointing.

Finally made it to Emmy Squared and sorry I didn't get there sooner. I was early for my reservation, but cordially seated and attended by servers. First time "must" was to try the pizza and it did not disappoint. The apple pie was fantastic too. Now it's time to try something else on the menu!!

The food was excellent… gluten free thick crust, and nicely melted dairy free cheese, all cooked to perfection! The sauce was sweet and tangy - loved it. Really recommend the location for the food. Restaurant was clean, nice and quiet… maybe because it wasn’t busy when we had an early dinner. The staff though was a bit unprofessional discussing staffing issues where we could all hear the conversation.

They were a bit short staffed and out of sorts but the pizza is outstanding!! Well worth the wait.
