Ellis Square Social is a neighborhood restaurant and craft cocktail bar located in historic Ellis Square, in the heart of downtown Beverly. Our Depression era building features a bustling dining room, with an authentic tin ceiling, reclaimed wood floor, period lighting, and tufted banquette, providing a warm and comfortable space for an evening out. Casual diners have the choice to seat at our beautiful cast pewter bar for a classic cocktail or craft beer as well as high tops around the bar and counter seating on the window overlooking Cabot Street. At Ellis Square Social, we believe in serving an outstanding home-made product in a sustainable and responsible way, while helping the local economy by buying from local producers.

The drinks are tiny with alcohol content just as tiny - price not tiny though. I've never had saltier food. Would have been much tastier if I could have actually tasted anything except salt. Very disappointed as this is a fun atmosphere. We won't be back though. Expensive and not worth it.

Dinner was amazing from beginning to end! We got the beet appetizer and the gnocchi with lobster special. Our waiter was awesome! 10 out of 10!

Excellent service, food and drinks! Lovely NYE dinner with cocktails of Life in France and an old fashioned-type drink, Caesar salad starter split between me and DH; tender, succulent maple brined Pork Chop with Pumpkin Bread pudding and well prepared Salmon with roasted baby potatoes and Brussels sprouts; dessert of Espresso Martini and Sticky Toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. Nice ambience! Will visit again!

Outstanding experience! A frequent diner, infrequent reviewer, but a well-deserved review is due! First time here - reso’s a cinch, were seated promptly, interior so cozy & warm, tables well spaced with large, pretty bar area. Menu selection refined and well-varied (a personal fave). Appetizer (roasted beets), 2 meals (seared tuna, salmon), dessert (flourless chocolate cake) all outstanding in creativity , flavor, presentation, size - just perfect! Our waitress, Hillary, was also outstanding - attentive & helpful. Nothing to alter here, they’ve got it right - a wonderful experience.

We arrived on time for our reservation, however had to wait to be seated. Although our server (bartender) was very pleasant, it took SO long to get our food, we were late getting to the show we were going to at the Cabot theater. We realize that the restaurant was busy, but we waited at least 45 min for our food. Luckily we only ordered wine & entrees as had we ordered cocktails and/or apps, we would have been even later! Not a good experience!

We had fabulous cocktails and a great meal. The staff were quite helpful, friendly, and efficient. We were surprised and a bit humbled to learn that the gentleman sitting next to us, who had engaged us in conversation, paid for our dinner! He and his wife left before us to go to a concert nearby. It was so sweet! We will pay it forward!
