Welcome to Ellie's Tap & Vine... Join us for seasonal cuisine, elegant ranch ambiance and great wine! We are Valley to Table dining, working with many local farms and purveyors; We look forward to seeing you soon! Our menu changes regularly, so please feel free to visit our website: www.elliestapandvine.com or follow us on IG and/or FB.

Our restaurant is located in the heart of Santa Ynez. We boast amazing outdoor seating with great views and because it is often a little chilly in the evening, we have heaters. We are also dog and cat friendly.

We know re-adjusting to dining out is a strange experience for everyone and we are all slowly returning. For now, we will be suspending lunch service.

Was so looking forward to dining here. Had heard so many good things. Was disappointed that we got put on a tiny high top table in the furthest back corner of the restaurant. It was difficult to get in to the seat and I jumped the person on table next to me getting in and they did the same to me going out. The table was tiny and barely fit drinks and bread basket. Service was extremely slow for entree. The entrees were good and something I would likely order again but salad and dessert just ok. It was restaurant week so for $30 for a 3 course the did a good job with the menu but feel they were too busy to manage. Dishes took a long time to be cleared. In fact they brought entree before clearing salad dishes and I had to exchange mh dirty salad plate for the entree plate because otherwise they would not have been able to place. Would I go back? On the fence.

Yet another wonderful evening at Ellie’s. Food is always great. We had the pâté appetizer, the beef stroganoff and crab cake between the two of us. Such great flavors and taste. Joy is always so warm and so much care goes in to this restaurant. And it shows. You won’t regret visiting. Feels like home.

Always a special treat to dine here. One of the best restaurants in the Valley. Just a matter of time before Joy gets her Michelin star. Menu constantly changes and everything is always delicious. Don’t miss the home made pate toast. Crab cakes are the best on the west coast. Bread pudding is best anywhere.

Ellie's Tap and Vine exceeded all expectations! The short ribs were absolutely divine—so tender they practically melted in my mouth. The osso buco was a standout with its unique curry twist, adding just the right amount of flavorful kick. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing, enjoyable meal. And whatever you do, don’t skip the apple crumble—it’s the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

Joy the owner/chef prepares every dish with love! The beef stroganoff , and the lobster Mac & cheese was outstanding. The Short Ribs on whipped potatoes was perfectly cooked, the meat fell off the bone. And the bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream was to die for. We will come back on our next trip to Santa Ynez area.

Joy and her team continue to knock the flavors out of the park! While I ALWAYS order the crab cake, and did again last evening, my friend chose the Osso Bucco with coconut, which was a new find for us, and the lentil soup, which we agreed was an outstanding version of a classic. Go and savor the flavors! The restaurant is cozy for the season. I was thrilled for Joy to see a nearly full house, too. Laurie

Never coming here again. They clearly lost or forgot our ticket because an hour went by and we only got one of our two appetizers. We made a reservation specifically to avoid waiting around. 3 main entrees weren’t available by 7pm (they had only been open for dinner for 2 hours by our reservation time), so that was frustrating. Approaching hour 2 we almost just walked out (we should have), but the food arrived and it was decent. The manager acted sorry for the wait but didn’t even try to make it better (like comp the 2 lemonades that also didn’t show up for an hour, perhaps). We felt like we were being targeted because the groups that were seated after us all ate and left before we even had our second appetizer. There are simpler ways to let a person know they aren’t welcome somewhere. Edit: horrible customer service. Total lack of accountability. The manager admits that service was sub par, yet continues to be defensive. I never said I was being “marginalized”, only that we were the only table not being served after waiting over 1.5 hours. Kinda weird the owner immediately brings up their diverse staff and clientele. There are non race or orientation related reasons a business could treat a customer poorly, I simply said we were not served in a timely manner. If I was lying, why did the owner come to the table twice to say sorry? I refuse to ask for anything for free, I was hoping the restaurant would take the time to make things right on their own. They clearly did not and continue to make things worse. I wouldn’t have written a review at all if there was any sincerity for the delays when we were dining.

Donna, you visited on the busiest night that we've ever had! Great for us but we definitely had some challenges & delays. I am sorry. We open @ 4:30 & your reservation was @ 7:00. We did everything in our power to make you happy, except comp your food & beverages. We moved you inside when we could & I, chef & owner, personally checked on you multiple times, as did your server. You mentioned to me that you thought it was 'personal' & then here you said you felt 'targeted' & all I can tell you is that is absolutely untrue. We are a staff of minorities, LGBTQ+, Tatted, bearded employees & we are a SAFE place & treat everyone with kindness & respect. Of course, I am sorry your experience wasn't at our typical level but I also wish you would have just talked to me. Openly. Happy NY.
