   This was our first time here and we were very happy with our whole experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. We will absolutely be coming back and telling others!

   another good experience at El Chollo. Vanessa our server, though a trainee was excellent - timely, attentive but not insertive, food came quickly and was well prepared and presented well; prices are reasonable though a little pricey but what isn't anymore. Noise was a little more than usual but restaurant was busy and still Vanessa was attentive! We'll be back.

   Just like El Cholo in LA. Service was great. Food was fantastic. Still thrilled to have my favorite Mexican restaurant from LA in Salt Lake.

   If you’re looking for incredible Mexican food in Salt Lake City, El Cholo is hands down our go-to spot. The food is always exceptional—authentic, flavorful, and made with care. Whether you’re craving sizzling fajitas, fresh guacamole, or hearty enchiladas, every dish hits the mark. The flavors are rich, the portions are generous, and the quality is consistently top-notch. Not only is the food amazing, but the environment at El Cholo really makes it special. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of casual and cozy that makes it feel like home every time we visit. The staff is friendly and attentive, which adds to the overall experience. It’s our go-to place for great food and a fantastic time with friends and family.    Enjoyed El Cholo. Chips and salsa are some of ours favorite. The food we all had was good, though came out somewhat slower than expected. We enjoyed the restaurant, though we wish it would be closer to us in Utah County. Hope there is one there in the future. We will be back!

    Our server, Rocky, had a great personality! And the manager was awesome, though I didn't catch her name. She helped me find the name of the company that makes the gorgeous mugs they use for their tableside hot chocolate and I've got my own set ordered! We enjoyed our 2nd visit almost as much as our first (the first time is always a little hard to top, isn't it?) - we really liked the upstairs ambiance the first time we visited but it wasn't open on our 2nd visit. I think the first floor gets a little louder and hearing-challenges were a bit more noticable. We WILL be back and can't wait for Green Corn Tamales this summer!!
