In the heart of Sugar House, El Cholo has been serving classic dishes and margaritas in a traditional setting since 1923. Reservations recommended.

We have complimentary parking behind our restaurant. Free street parking is plentiful. Also, AFTER 5:30PM we have secured the lot next door at the Kimball Office Complex at 2178 South 900 East.

we've eaten here many times and have usually had a good experience - tonight not as much; the food remains of high quality but service was off tonight - we had multiple delays with waitress failing to acknowledge us being there; had to request our beverages 3 times and have another server bring them and there were several birthday parties ongoing at the time so noise level was a bit high especially with some of the kids running around near us; nonetheless, we'll go back as tonight seems to be an exception to our typical experiences; food portions remain good but prices are a little on the higher side

Great service, good food, loved the queso and guacamole, chips and salsa were good but salsa was very mild. They were very attentive, never did our chips or drinks go dry.

Fantastic food and service. It was quite busy on the weekend but we had a reservation so it was no problem. Everything we had was delicious. The table side guacamole was worth the hype. The enchiladas Suiza was the standout dish.

We had a great birthday dinner celebration with friends. Excellent food, service and overall experience. Not our first time here, and won’t be our last!

What a great experience for this jewel of an addition to the Salt Lake dining scene. A quiet Tuesday night, very good service with fresh guacamole hand mashed at table. With a broad, historical, menu, it made the evening a delight.

Great food, very flavorful. Really enjoys the fresh salsa and albondigas soup! Family loved the streak fajitas. Margaritas were fresh and delicious. Will definitely visit again!

Great service and very gracious servers. We never felt rushed, and we never waited for anything, yet we didn’t feel like they were hovering over us. I will recommend them to everyone.

They History of excellent Mexican Food is played out every time I get to go hear. Everything on the menu is amazing. I wish I lived next door.
