Located on Lake Wylie in the newly developed McLean South Shore, Drift on Lake Wylie is a chef-inspired lakeside chophouse. At the forefront of the Lake Wylie dining scene, our food is simple and seasonal—home to prime cuts of beef, local seafood, and homemade pasta. We will be exclusively serving the pre-set menu on this day, which is $75++ per person. Service fees & tax are not included in this price. We will be seating reservations up to 8 guests this day.     Dined here for the 4th time last night. The food was all absolutely fantastic. The lamb shank was rich and cooked perfectly, steak had a nice char, the salad was generous that we split between the two of us. Unfortunately, service is what keeps guests returning for a dining experience. The service has been a continued miss per every one of my experiences at the drift. It was obvious we were inconveniencing our server having been sat in her section when she wanted to go home, and that completely came through in our experience. 3 strikes and you’re out, and we gave it a fourth…still out. From a place with delicious food, It is disappointing on behalf of the company as a whole that the poor level of service will deter people from ever returning.

    Second time visiting it was great. The upstairs area seems to be a more intimate setting. I look forward to visiting when the weather is warmer for outdoor dining.

    We went for queen’s feast we had a great waitress. The oysters with Carolina reaper sauce was wonderful the bone in pork chop best that I’ve ever had

    Went for lunch, the soups (lobster bisque and pumpkin bisque) were delicious. The prawns with Cesar salad great size and tasty. The burger and fries very salt, but the bacon was good. Service was very attentive, but food came out very slow and it wasn’t full.

    Came here to have brunch with a friend. Though I’ve been many times for dinner, this was our first brunch experience. The mimosa flight was perfect. We really enjoyed the Beet and Burrata appetizer. My vegetable frittata was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was delicious in the service by Naomi was fantastic!

    Appetizers were loved by everyone in our party of 6, all the entrees were great except the lamb shank which was dry. Desserts were fantastic. We were seated in a half round table across from the bar which made conversation difficult as well as the noise from the bar did not help. Would go again but ask for a different seating location.

    My husband and I came to Drift for Restaurant Week and also decided to try the Restaurant Week menu selections. It was a Friday date night. We made reservations and were promptly seated, however it took the service a long while to arrive. I had the pumpkin bisque and my husband had the fried oysters. The bisque could have used a bit more salt and the oysters were overly salted, the lamb however was very good and tender. The dessert was decent as we both had the Ricotta Cheesecake. The restaurant is very beautiful and has beautiful scenery. It is pricey, but that is expected.
