Douro Steakhouse is located at the Towne House in downtown Fall River, MA. Only 20 minutes from Providence, RI and 50 minutes from Boston, MA. The spot to stop in on the way to or from the Cape or Newport. Douro Steakhouse offers Portuguese inspired cuisine and offers a classic steak cut menu ranging from Filet Mignon to Dry-aged Bone in Ribeye to Wagyu Strip to our signature 38oz Tomahawk.     Food was delicious. Food ordered: 8 oz filet with herb butter, garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. 8oz filet Portuguese style. It was served with white rice, potatoes rounds with an egg and pepper. Window seat was nice but was a small table for two. With all the available seating, I prefer a larger table. There was not a lot of guests, however, it is a steakhouse and we did go on a Friday during lent, which was a nice plus for us. No wait and immediate seating and service. The only con: Parking. We drove around a few blocks (with each one being a one way, sending us further away from the restaurant), before we parked a block away. We were informed inside when asked, that parking in the lot across the street is an option, but it wasn’t clearly stated outside anywhere that it was okay to do so. But, would eat here again.

    Unfortunately it was a fixed menu on Valentine’s Day and they did not have many gluten free options.

    We were the only people in there. We went on Valentine's Day at 2:30 in the afternoon, which was perfect. We had our choice of seating. The staff were very kind and accommodated. There was a special menu this night that we were unaware of because we go there for one thing, and it's the cod with passion fruit cream sauce. Which was not on the menu, but the chef was able to make it for us anyway. Which was awesome bc it was kind of a disappointment to see such a small variety of meals to choose from. I wanted a salad, but they didn't have any on the menu for that night, which was fine. I ended up getting the chicken Mozambique. Which was hit and delicious. The only complaint I had was that the chicken was steaming hot, but the rice was cold. I took a couple of bites and left it. Our overall time there was great. We have been here before with zero complaints, and that is why I still gave the 5 start rating. We will be coming back as always.

    The restaurant appeared to be closed when we arrived as we did not see any customers. We walked in and were greeted properly and were asked if we had a preference on which side we wanted to sit because one side was colder than the other. We asked to be seated wherever it was warmer. We observed many heaters in the restaurant and were sat next to one that was on the floor. Even with the heater it was still cold and we had to eat with our coats on. The bottom of the walls were chipped. The food was ok. The steak lacked flavor and the filet i ordered was tough and not tender. We picked this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary in hopes we would have a great time, but it wasn’t the vibe we expected at all. This place should really look into their heat issue, looking at the reviews seems like this was mentioned a month ago and clearly nothing has been done.

    We had a giant meatball, filet mignon w/ gnocchi, Portuguese steak and slice of dulce de tres leches cake. Everything was excellent. Steaks were cooked perfectly with a crisp sear and medium rare interior. Service was exceptional. The vibe is upscale yet comfortable. We will be back.

    First time going to this resturant . The first impression the resturant was very nice when you walk in . We were sat right away with our reservation. There was no heat in the building . They had portable heaters that were of no help . It was 20 degrees outside . Myself and others were dinning with their winter coats and hats on. Our waiter was rude . Didn’t offer simple things like water. The appetizer cauliflower and the Portuguese soup were the best part of our dinner . I ordered the steak kabob medium well. They gave it to me raw . I sent it back . It came back still Raw. Not Even a little bit better I don’t think they looked at it when sent it back to me . I told the waiter and he was snippy and said I’ll take it off the bill. My husband ordered a bourbon neat for his first drink . He asked for the same drink when he was done .the waiter brought back an old fashion . There is a difference. My husband was not going to ask to change it because he was already frustrated . For our first dinner date of 2025 it was a flop.

    Overall excellent. It was New Year’s Eve so they were busy but still did awesome. Not my first time here. Food has always been excellent. Great wine collection. Very good dining experience and the best overall experience in the area.
