DOPO, meaning 'after' in Italian, is an intimate dining experience in the lower level of Elizabeth Square in Marda Loop, Calgary. Inspired by D.O.P, its predecessor restaurant, DOPO has been reimagined by Executive Chef, David Leeder and Owner, Tony Migliarese. With strong opinions from Mamma Rose, of course.

                        DOPO was one of my favourite dining experiences. And (not to brag) I’ve had wonderful meals all over the world. From the moment we arrived- we were enfolded with the best possible service and care. Jess completely read our vibes and chose everything for us. After running it by us and getting our okay. Amazing bread with whipped ricotta. A side of marinated onions (?) Hard to describe but very delicious. An endive salad with sublime flavours. We shared a pasta and our main was octopus and branzino. Ridiculously good. My friend’s dairy allergy was dealt with gracefully- not a problem at all. And tiramisu split between two of us. Absolute heaven! We felt completely ‘uplifted’. Jess was also very kind with the tasters while we were deciding on a wine and we got an absolute winner. Anthony is a really lovely guy and took very good care of us as well. Beautiful gem of a restaurant- cannot recommend it enough.

                        Food and service were amazing! The ricotta and tomato is a must have and finish your meal with Tiramisu- text the family and tell them how much you loved it (phone number on the menu). We’ll be back!

                        May I dare say it.. quite possibly even better than the original DOP. Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Calgary. Service was TOP NOTCH (wish I remembered our server’s name, she was phenomenal!!). Every dish was delicious and different, from appies to mains, and obviously Rose’s tiramisu to wrap up the experience. SO good!

                        Overall, food was good. Enjoyed the ambience of the space. The portions were more generous than I was anticipating! One thing to keep in mind is that there is a 1.75hr dining time, so we were rushed out earlier than we anticipated so that was the only disappointing surprise. We enjoyed our evening, and will be back again.

We do have 1 hour 45 minute dining times for tables of two and it appears that we were a few minutes behind seating you for your 7:45pm reservation, seating you at 7:51.                         A really warm and comfortable location with an "old world" feel. Food was incredible and the service even better. Can't wait to go again!
