Welcome to Donovans - our ‘house on the beach’ and home we love to share. Donovans is located on the St.Kilda beach front offering guests a memorable dining experience in Melbourne. With a bay side view, beautiful Mediterranean inspired food and the special relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant, Donovans is where you will feel at home.

Donovans’ exciting menu has been developed our intimate knowledge of modern Mediterranean cooking. The menu is extensive with a modern mix of favourite dishes emphasising the best local produce. Donovans also offers an extensive wine list of Australian and imported wines and an eclectic mix of cocktails.

We have been going here annually for 20 years, and there is an expectation of food, service, ambience that has taken a step the wrong way. There's been some subtle changes, and they are not all for the better. The staff now are less engaging, hurried, wore dirty uniforms, and couldn't confidently serve the dishes. Happy to say the food met all expectations, and it still has the 'family house' feel that makes it feel good. It is just the little things that you notice when they aren't there that makes it different.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday while visiting Melbourne. This was the perfect place for a special occasion. The service was among the best we’ve experienced. Very attentive and yet fun and lighthearted. The setting, with the views of the beach was a big plus.

Outstanding food, service and ambience. Great cocktails especially the green velvet. Steaks and octopus and fish and chips simply sublime. Bomba Alaska and sticky date soufflé amazing. A perfect tribute family dinner to remember and honour my late great auntie Gina whose favourite restaurant in Melbourne was Donovan’s. Great value for money too. Can’t wait to come back!
