All of our dining will be either 6.30 or 7.00pm starts, unfortunately we will not be able to offer any later tables.

Our Adult only fine dining restaurant has been awarded two rosettes by the AA for the quality of our food.

We aim to host the majority of our summer and early autumn dining, alfresco in our newly built under cover outside dining experience in the garden. IMPORTANT ! when booking during this period please note, dining maybe inside or outside and will be weather dependent and whilst we understand that some of you may book with us to experience the outside booths, on the night should the weather becomes extreme, we unfortunately may need to move the dining experience inside. .

Enjoy a Three Course Lunch whilst listening to live Jazz from Suffolks Very own Olivia Castle. Currently based in Thornton, Olivia has worked with a fair few big names notably the late Sir Michael Parkinson. Cancellations with less than one week’s notice will incur a charge of the full per head menu price. This charge also applies to reductions in cover numbers as well as full cancellations.

Lovely food- great service- I had a really lovely whiskey as well - the trio of puds is a sensation- the treacle ice cream is divine xx

My husband and I had the best meal we have had for a long time at Sutherland House. The tuna was sublime and highly recommended and my pork belly delicious. My husband had cod that he said was beautifully cooked. I can’t wait to go back. The dining room had a great atmosphere and full but easy to have a conversation. Highly recommended.

Really impressed with the menu because lots of choose for gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian etc. I even had a pudding to suit my intolerances and it was delicious. Highly recommend

Small boutique hotel I think 4/5 rooms with onsite restaurant seating approximately 20. Husband and wife owners, him front of house and serving her cooking. Food was really delicious I especially enjoyed the monkfish en croute with a bisque sauce. Everything was nicely presented and although a bit more pricey than some others it was worth the extra. Owner was straight talking but funny with it and we had an interesting evening. We were staying in a very nice room and left after an equally delicious breakfast the following morning. Would not hesitate in recommending to others.

Delicious food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Our first time eating at Sutherland house and definitely won’t be our last.

Great food at a reasonable price and good size portions. It was a little quiet but was on a Wednesday evening in October. Service was really good, helpful and friendly
