Join us for our exciting taste that is a mix of traditional and contemporary. Open since 2018, Dancing Yak has quickly become a favorite spot among locals and travelers alike. All the food was great, but the main courses didn’t come out at the same time, meaning that some of us finished their meals while others hadn’t even received theirs yet

There was a great meal and the servers were so kind and helpful. They helped us order the right amount of rice and naan and order the right spice level for every dish. The cocktails were super fun and delicious as well with lots of Mezcal offerings. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food, attentive table service and lovely ambiance. Wonderful menu options, vegetarian friendly, something for everyone. We had Watermelon salad, Mango Lhassi, Matar Paneer, Zatar Naan, Matar Paneer (vegetarian), Butter Chicken and the Flan for dessert, all wonderful. Their cocktails are also excellent.

Came here for my birthday and it was great! The staff were so kind and had great recommendations to accommodate 7 people sharing food. The food was delicious, along with their cocktails having such a variety. I would definitely come back

This is one of my favorite spots, you walk in the door and you are hit with the amazing aromas of the wonderful dishes. The food here is always delicious and if you like spicy, they can make the dishes to your liking. My experiences here are always top notch at Dancing Yak.

I made reservations several weeks in advance and asked for their best table for my daughter’s birthday. When we arrived we got a table next to the kitchen/bathrooms and a staff member was vacuuming. They crammed six of adults in a tiny booth. . I asked if we could move to the nice table in the window and was told they had a party of eight coming in. I was there for two hours and table stayed empty the entire time. They did move us on the other side of the restaurant after I complained about the noise level which was a better table than the original one. Food was good, service was slow and wait staff was friendly.

Dancing Yak is our all-around favorite SF restaurant for seven years. Flavorful food, kid friendly choices (momos, butter chicken, rice), they’re able to modify many dishes to remove cream and milk. The staff is experienced and thoughtful. Plus it’s generally easy to get a table if you arrive early (as we do with a family), or on off-peak nights. The prices are totally reasonable for what you get, I don’t have sticker shock. :)
