Unusually the service was a little slower than we have come to expect. Not a major problem, and partly caused I suspect by the large party that arrived a few minutes after us. Otherwise this is a great little pub/restaurant. It's part of a chain so the menu is pretty standard but it does have a good selection and the food is always very good. They stock a good selection of lagers, although my companion was a little disappointed that they only had one choice of cider. We have been on a number of occasions previously and we will no doubt return!

This is probably not a usual experience at this venue... hopefully. We had a table booked, and were there on time and seated. We had a drink, but when we were asked for our food order, we were told it would be 'at least' and hour and a half wait. Apparently, they were a chef down, and a large table of walk-ins had just arrived and their order was given priority over ours, despite the fact that we had booked. Pretty poor service I would say. I hope others have a better experience. As an aside... we walked 5mins up the road to the Jolly Coopers, where the food was excellent (better menu I would say), and service quick and friendly. And they have a micro-brewery.

This pub is one of our favourites. Friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble. We will be back

Normally don’t need to book but did just in case . Been here many times and always enjoyed our visit. Good selection of food and some excellent reasonably priced cocktails to chose from.

Area we sat was nice looking over the pond. Chairs were comfortable. Very short staffed though - seems only 2 on and then they were inundated with school children/people which meant they couldnt coupe. Couldnt find bottle of wine we ordered and portion sizes seemed a bit small. Guy serving us tried his best but you could see he was busy - I had to even go and find them to get a coffee and get our bill.
