The Art Gallery Restaurant, Crafted by Matt Moran, provides a unique dining experience in one of Sydney’s most stunning dining rooms. Reflecting Moran’s signature style, the restaurant showcases locally sourced produce and premium Australian meat and seafood through a light, Mediterranean-inspired menu guided by the seasons. The drinks menu features an all-Australian wine list as well as Champagne, cocktails, beers, ciders and a substantial non-alcoholic offering. The restaurant is operated in partnership with the Gallery’s culinary advisor, Matt Moran, who works with food and beverage partner The Fresh Collective to execute his vision.

This menu changes with the seasons and is made up of the best of our a la carte menu. It is a fantastic way for your group to feast on a selection of Chef's favourite dishes. Enjoy a 3 course set menu lunch along with a ticket to the Rene Magritte -Australia's first retrospective of the celebrated surrealist (located in Naala Nura, our south building until 9 February 2025). Available for 2-7 guests. Tickets must be picked up directly from the restaurant on the day of your reservation and not from the gallery ticketing desk. Feel free to collect your ticket before lunch or upon arrival for your reservation. Please be aware that credit card details are collected solely for our no-show policy, and full payment for the lunch package and any beverages is due at the conclusion of your meal. One ticket per person, and no additional discounts are applicable

We had the exhibition/lunch special which was pretty good. The shared entrees were delicious and very generous served. The main course was chicken breast with a bread and almond sauce which was too rich and not very flavoursome Dessert was a coconut cream and white peach granita which was very disappointing. The granita had very little flavor and the coconut cream was just straight out of a tin. The venue is great and the service was faultless

I absolutely love this restaurant! The space is bright and airy, and from the moment you walk in, the manager greets you with a warm smile. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The wine list is fantastic, featuring a great selection of regional Australian wines. Whenever I’m celebrating a special occasion, I always choose Matt Moran.

I was very disappointed with my seating. I made my booking nearly a month in advance. I sent an email to the restaurant explaining that I am celebrating special occasion and I need a window seat. I received verification that my message was received but ... my seat was write in the middle of the hall next to waiters working station. Not suitable for photos of special occasion. That dampened the mood. The food was good but it did not improve overall experience. The service was slow and not that friendly. I don't think I will come back again or suggest Crafted by Matt Moran to my fiends.

What a brilliant restaurant! It offers great views of the wharf and navy ships. The service is warm and welcoming, and the menu has a variety of options to suit every taste, whether you're after a light lunch or something heartier . The Irish manager does excellent an excellent job—very friendly and leads a highly professional team.

It was an extremely busy night at the NSWAG. Only busier with some blockbuster exhibitions. It was very easy to make a booking at Crafted by online at the last minute and so convenient. The waitstaff were friendly and welcoming and the joint was jumping which gave a nice vibe. Our person was efficient and attentive and extremely patient when we were bumbling about with our cards at payment. The food was well presented and generously served. We ordered way too much. we each enjoyed our meals and dessert - delicious. The wine was also very pleasant. We do not dine out often so this was a very enjoyable experience which I am sure we will repeat. Thank you!

The food and service were, as always, excellent. However, they were partly marred by a sour taste in my mouth caused by the booking system which threatens to charge you $50 if you are 15 minutes late. So if you get caught in traffic or a train slowdown, you get penalised. I understand the restaurant wanting to stop no-shows, but this demand just adds a feeling of unwelcomeness to the restaurant experience. I don't know what sort of image the restaurant is trying to project, but this is a significant black mark. I'd prefer to go to a restaurant where they welcomed my reservation..

Panoramic view and clean lines was a good first impression.Service was prompt and continued in a friendly but non-intrusive manner. We had a set menu but had plenty of variety and servings were generous. We were not rushed and enjoyed an excellent, relaxed lunch after visiting the Magritte exhibition. Can thoroughly recommend Crafted.

Great service from an Irish waitress who look after my wife and daughter and I. Definitely will come again.
