Coombe - The Melba Estate es un establecimiento de origen inigualable que ocupa la antigua casa de Dame Nellie Melba. El restaurente ofrece una experiencia cultural y gastronómica única, con 2,8 hectáreas de jardines impresionantes e instalaciones preciosas, las cocheras restauradas y la torre del reloj. El restaurante, ubicado en las cocheras restauradas y la torre del reloj histórica, sirve platillos a la carta y un menú degustación, preparados por el chef executive Tony Milton. Los clientes podrán disfrutar de una selección de productos de temporada, la mayoría de ellos de producción propia, para desayunar, almorzar y merendar todos los días. We also done the house tour and thought it was perfect and the tour guid was so nolagable the only thing we would suggest is that you give a pamphlet with Web sites off interest such as artists who have done paintings ect as you tend to forget.

Lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the Yarra valley, I highly recommend high tea at Coombe, everything was spot on, food, bubbles and service all excellent.

Wow, great food and service here. Main courses and desserts quite generous proportions. Lots of tables having very yummy looking high tea. Staff were so kind and smiling, makes a tremendous difference even when quite busy. It’s 5* from us

Note - As a young couple, this was a special birthday lunch for my boyfriend and not something we do often. I rarely complain unless absolutely necessary! Positives first: - The food was absolutely delicious. Some of the best oysters we have had. The barramundi was also incredible. - Beautiful gardens and atmosphere. Restaurant interior was gorgeous. - Complimentary bread and butter. - Initial service upon arrival was great, my boyfriend was wished a happy birthday which was lovely. On to the negatives: - Appetisers and entrees came out promptly, however we waited almost 2 hours for our mains to come out! Our booking was from 11:15am - 1:15pm and by 1:00pm we still hadn't received our mains and had to ask two waitresses when they would be coming as we had booked a wine-tasting elsewhere. - Upon return from the kitchen to check where our food was, the waitress did not give an apology and simply said "Your food is coming soon, it will be out with the next round". - As it was already 1:00pm and we needed to be out by 1:15pm, the waitress suggested we put the dessert that we ordered in a takeaway box as compensation. That seems a bit insulting considering the price of the courses. I then asked what else they could do for compensation as this didn't seem fair. - The manager did not give us a discount but added one of our entrees to one of our mains to create a set menu (entree + main instead of main + dessert). We left without eating dessert as we did not have time. - Overall, disappointed with the service (not all staff, some were exceptional!) and poor attempt from management to compensate high-paying customers. Food was delicious but not sure we will be back purely because of the service.

I celebrated a birthday with seven other ladies with a High Tea. We thoroughly enjoyed the day, bottomless sparkling wine and delicious food. Maybe next time we would like to add on the garden tour as that would have been a lovely walk and can also tour Dame Nellie melba's house.

Excellent cuisine for our lunch choices and very pleasant staff members. Our guide for the house tour was Rosemary and she was very knowledgable and extremely polite. A truly memorable experience. Thank you
