Located at the Northwest corner of Culdesac, a beautiful and passionate walkable community in Tempe, Arizona. Cocina Chiwas is a chef driven Mexican Restaurant with delicious food, cocktails and an intoxicating atmosphere. Amazing dinner and cocktails. A fun mix of open kitchen but upscale vibes in the dining room. Our toddler enjoyed the birria quesadilla but they have a kids cheese only option too. The chicken mole was well seasoned and the short rib is enough for two- the flavors were amazing on everything. We also loved the chiwarita and had to have seconds. Not obviously kid friendly but they had high chairs and food options for littles. We will be back!

Wonderful experience, meal, and service celebrating my mom’s birthday. It’s obvious that everyone cares about what they’re creating. The drinks were great, beautiful glassware elevates them. The food was excellent— the quality, thoughtfulness and flavor combinations are what make a meal out memorable and leave you wanting to return. Love an open kitchen to see the masters at work. Juan took extra time to chat with us, which was very nice and made my mom happy.

Great Experience. Great food and drink options. Service was solid. Birria quesadilla and pork belly was great. Will definitely be back. Nice patio and bar as well.

The food was fantastic. A great variety and very flavorful. We had 5 different dishes and every one of them was delicious. The cocktail we had was also very tasty....unique and awesome. The service was great. The only downside was that as the evening wore on, the temps outside reached 68 and the doors remained open making us quite cold, which was uncomfortable. After awhile, we couldn't wait to leave because it wasn't very pleasant being so cold. I think closing the doors as the sun goes down and the temperatures (particularly, in the winter) decrease, it's time to close the doors. Nobody has their homes exposed to the outside when it's 68 degrees out!!

Exceptional food and fantastic atmosphere. The food is as imaginative as it is delicious. I recently had a sweet potato barata and a special of bbq pork. The wood fired birria quesadillas are a must have staple. All of the accolades are well earned. I love that the hip, family-friendly atmosphere is appropriate for both a fun night out and for a special occasions.

Picked Cocina Chiwas to introduce my parents to excellent modern Mexican food. Always pleased to get a reservation at Cocina (hint: early is easier). The food is impeccably well done with a shifting seasonal menu that is fresh and vibrant. Adrian is at the top of his game slinging cocktails and making guests feel very welcome. I’ve never been disappointed with a meal here.

Food and drinks were excellent as was service. The Pollo con Mole was the best I've had including in Mexico!
