Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

    Made reservation for dinner and were very rudely told it was only for concert - no mention of that when booking and host basically just pushed us aside while then telling another couple that they could get on a waitlist for bar area- didn’t even give us that option when we had made an open table resy and told her we were looking for dinner. Not great service or any attempt to give option that was offered to someone who didn’t have a booking.

    It was a fantastic place for an upscale lunch. From walking in the door to leaving you feel special. The service, food, and presentation is a 10. Remember, don't skip dessert.

    The City Post is a wonderful place to go for a celebration, impress your friends/family/date. Our server Graham knocked it out of the ballpark - fantastic. After supper we enjoyed a hidden gem for prohibition cocktails in the basement. There is a catch only open on certain days. You’ll want to call before arriving. It is first come first serve with the exception if you are a guest at dining at City Post your guaranteed a seat at the table. HIGHLY RECOMMEND-WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!

    Four of us went to lunch for a birthday. We all loved it. The food and service were great. The birthday girl got a free dessert and a Happy Birthday card which was nice. The wedge salad was big enough to share as was the brussel sprouts side dish. Delicious. Our server Desiree was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. Especially for a special event.

    Tuesday nights are so fun. It's the chefs choice for small bites. We paired the wine with the food and it was fabulous. The service is always the best.

    Just LOVE City Post - the food is Always wonderful - the service excellent! And what’s very nice is that the atmosphere overall induces interaction with other diners … friendly smiles and warm “hello’s” to fellow diners!

    First time dining at City Post it was delicious. Our waitress Alexandra was awesome! She was attentive and on point with our dinner experience. We were there to celebrate our 23rd anniversary with our two children 13 and 8. Dinner service was exceptional from the beginning to the end. We left full and happy to have stopped here. Definitely a place to go and have a delicious dinner. Thank you all for making this day so extra special!!!
