Created by 2024 James Beard Emerging Chef Nominee, Ope Amosu, ChòpnBlọk is a nationally acclaimed restaurant that carefully unveils the West African culinary experience, serving fresh proteins, vegetables, grains, and beverages that are prepared under a West African flavor profile, packaged in a local, contemporary fashion.

My husband and I came to Houston for our Anniversary and decided to try this restaurant and we loved it!!! It was THE BEST food. If you are ever in downtown Houston you will not be disappointed!

Our first time to visit ChopnBlok and it did not disappoint. Just in walking in, the aroma of the food was inviting as well as all of the staff. The atmosphere was vibrant. The food was great. We're looking forward to our next visit.

We had been to the Post location, but this was even better! Such a beautiful space! We went during happy hour and had most of the appetizers along with greens and tings + chicken. We also got some of the delicious curry sauce to supplement (it’s amazing without, but the golden curry sauce is just that good). The purple frozen and colada cocktail were our favorite drinks. Already ready to go back. Also, the bartenders and every member of staff were SO jovial and helpful. It was such a fun and pleasant experience!

Exceptional service, phenomenal and bold flavors and eclectic decor! A whole vibe, I can't wait to return! Thank God for amazing West African food in the heart of Montrose, Houston!

Enjoyed our first visit to ChopnBlok. Attentive service and super interesting, flavorful food. Between the four of us, we sampled several different starters and mains. We’ll be back! Glad to have you in the neighborhood!

On Mondays they have a dj, which is fun but it can be a bit loud. Overall I still had a great time!
