Chianti Restaurant is a long time Gaslamp Quarter favorite, known for its authentic Italian cuisine, including hand made pastas, fresh seafood, and classic steaks. Our menu features recipes inherited from the rustic provinces of Tuscany, and are crafted from the freshest ingredients imported from Italy.

We offer an extraordinary wine selection featuring both Californian & Italian Regional wines, as well as a full bar that provides a wide range of liquors and after-dinner drinks. Our staff maintains a refined yet relaxing ambiance for a stellar dining experience amid the tiled entryway, plush seating & beautiful Italian accents. Guests enjoy our window tables and patio dining amid the bustling Gaslamp's busy nightlife.

Our historic building is adjacent to San Diego’s Convention Center, Petco Park & Horton Plaza. We’re also close to many of downtown’s biggest hotels and hottest nightclubs. Private or semi-private rooms may be booked for 20-65 guests

El restaurant bonito pero el servicio pésimo. Se tardaron horas en llevarnos la carta, luego en tomarnos la orden y en traernos los alimentos. La mesa de junto de unas 10 personas de lo más escandalosa. La comida buena, pero el servicio fue tan malo que no la pudimos disfrutar.

We had a reservation at Chianti but it was closed for renovations. We went to its sister restaurant, Panevino. Everything was wonderful: food, service, and atmosphere. It was a little noisy because it was so crowded. Everyone in our party of 8 was pleased with their meal and experience

Service is outstanding and everyone there is willing to stop their busyness and talk to you about the food. The pasta special is made fresh daily. It’s worth the time to stop and have a meal.

Service was good and wait time was good especially considering it was a Saturday night and was packed. Staff went above and beyond by preparing dish for my wife that wasn't on the menu. My swordfish was the best ever.

We have been going here for many years when we go to CA . It has been a favorite but we haven’t been back for a couple of years. It seems the food has gone downhill . My wife had the risotto which tasted like rice a Toni. The Veal chop I had was very expensive and like rubber. We will not be coming back.

I was disappointed because I checked their website before making a reservation and the menu was completely different and each plate cost about $10 more than was stated on the menu.

Menu was 1/3 size of what was the menus on the Internet. Food was lousey. Food and wine were terrible. Food and drinks were too expensive.. Food selection was poor! Atmosphere was terrible. And everything was overpriced. Won’t ever be back

What a perfect spot for a balmy Saturday evening meal in February. Had a 6:30 pm booking through Open Table, which was great as two of us got an outdoor table away from the exterior railing. Later, heater lamps above were a perfect touch to keep us toasty, not roasty. Although getting lively nearby and inside as the evening wore on, our table was perfect for conversation. Roberto(?), our server, was the real Italian deal and he was extremely nice, though very busy. We each ordered a glass of wine that arrived quickly and really hit the spot. We ordered a shared caesar salad, which though tasty, was pretty much as expected. We each had the ravioli in pink sauce, which was really good. The only issue was the bread was served, then immediately salads were served, and immediately entrees were served. No time to savor and enjoy. It all came at once. We were not rushed to leave, so being served everything so quickly was a bit of a bummer. Overall, we loved Chianti and will be back. An early reservation time is key to a nice meal.

The waitress was very nice as was the ambiance but we waited 45 minutes before we got water for the table and almost an hour before we got our drinks. No explanation for why everything was taking forever. When the food finally arrived, the calamari was very well prepared but the entrees were only fair, the Rockfish was very fishy and the Lobster ravioli had some spice in it that seemed to overwhelm the entire dish. The wait could have been forgiven if the food was better but it was very disappointing and no one in our party would go back.

We dined at Chianti's for Valentine's Day. The food was fantastic, the wine and cocktail choices were very good. The service- impeccable!! Brad (our waiter) was great- he offered suggestions, answered our questions, even helped with the wine choices. We would definitely eat here again!
