Specializing in creative American cuisine and thoughtfully crafted cocktails, Carson Kitchen sits in the heart of Salt Lake’s downtown dining scene. Carson Kitchen is built on a philosophy of reimagined comfort food prepared with approachable fine-dining ingredients.

The restaurant concept originated in 2014, opening in the historic Fremont East district of Downtown Las Vegas, a partnership between chef and restaurateur Cory Harwell and his dear friend, the late Chef Kerry Simon. Designed to bring a carefully curated experience to our country’s unique & vibrant neighborhoods, Carson Kitchen features a contemporary bar, open kitchen expo counter, and community tables in an industrial yet inviting architecture.

Very creative and tasty dishes! Bar seating is ideal, the bartenders engaging. Overall one of too few good dining choices in downtown SLC.

We wrote a 5-star Google review while still enjoying our meal, which is to say Carson Kitchen exceeded our expectations. The Manager, Phil, went above and beyond. Charles, our Server, was on point. We shared dishes. We recommend the Cocoa-Espresso NY Strip (cooked medium rare); Boozy Carrots; Mac & Cheese; and their shredded Brussels Sprouts Caesar. We will return. And I will promote them via my premium car service business website.

Definitely a must try. Most of the food served family style and two people can easily share. I tried the beet salad and a spicy shrimp.appetizer. Both were delicious — the best salad I’ve had in a long while. Our server encouraged us to try the doughnut bread pudding and did not disappoint. I will coming back for this exact meal very soon. Service was great. There is a parking lot two doors down.

Fun atmosphere, great blend of a restaurant/bar vibe, good food, good drinks, can see the TV’s from everywhere in the restaurant. Great fun and easy spot for a fun evening downtown.

The food was delicious and the staff was kind, but I wonder if they were understaffed because we had a hard time getting drinks ordered and our appetizer came out with the main dishes. It was also soooo loud, it was impossible to have a conversation with the person sitting across from me and there were only four of us at the table! I’d go back again to try more food and hope for a better experience.

We went here during a break from a work conference at the nearby convention center. Staff was friendly and attentive and the food was OUTSTANDING! Shrimp, chicken skins, strip steak and mac & cheese were all group favorites. Save room for dessert!!!

This is the sort of restaurant that could become the crown jewel of the already legit SLC food scene! Our server, Nicky, was incredible from start to finish!
