Candlelight Lodge’s licensed a la carte restaurant and bar has been part of Thredbo folklore for several decades.
We feature both Australian and international cuisine, however, a favourite with our patrons and specialty of the house is our fondue which is available nightly.
The bar is open for afternoon drinks from 4.30pm pm with bar snacks and our restaurant opens from 5:00pm for dinner.

Hi, love the ambience. Really enjoyed the entree hummus and my hubby enjoyed the bread. My husband loved the duck salad. My main Israeli cous cous was the only Vegie option and was nice but had no protein (needs nuts or tofu or something it’s an expensive cous cous salad). Josh my son had chicken schnitzel and chips and hated the hand cut chips (we liked them though). Kids are picky. Thanks for a good night. C

We had a fantastic dinner Thankyou , excellent service from all staff that looked after us . We all had the veal and it was lovely .

Having discussed the food we wanted regarding source , freshness, etc., the main fish dish we ordered was exceptional. Staff attention was excellent and clearly they have a very talented chef who most certainly took the trouble to make our dishes perfect. This was a most memorable meal and occasion in all aspects. A sincere thank you especially as this was a special anniversary for us.

It was a special anniversary weekend for us. We have known about the Candlelight Lodge for the last 50 years, so had very high hopes. First impression was a disappointment with everything very dated. The cushions on the booth seats were tattered with many frayed holes. It seems very little has been spent on upkeep. In our opinion the food was very poor. Only 3 obvious (easy) choices for main course. My wife's veal with "spatzle" (noodles) was absolutely saturated with pepper. She could not eat it. We had to swap. My duck salad was ok but not particularly tasty. It lacked a nice dressing. The first two bottles of wine we considered (one tasted) were obviously well past their used by date and tasted a little off. Our third wine, a Rose was very good. The desserts also unappetizing. My wife's meringue dessert, with raspberries, rhubarb & was very tart, dry and flavourless. My chocolate sorbet was also not particularly tasty. On the positive side the young lady who served us was lovely and deserves a lot of credit for her patience and efforts to satisfy our requirements. For a total cost of $171 we felt it was very poor value and certainly would never return (even though we live locally).
