Can Can is a French brasserie and bakery in Cary Court Shopping Center. With seating for over 140 in the main dining room, an Art Nouveau inspired private dining room that seats up to 60 guests or over 100 for cocktails, and a full-service bakery and pastry kitchen supplying all of its breads, pastries, and desserts, the restaurant’s versatility should provide the area an array of options and events.

Can Can provides nonstop service morning, noon, and night and looks to give the local neighborhood, businesses, and Richmond visitors, a home away from home, an office away from the office, a place of refuge, or a stage for celebrating with friends.

Our lunch date was delightful. Our server, Liam, was an absolute gem. So engaging, yet not overbearing…he’s in his element.

Fries with moules? No bread (they charge extra) to soak up the juice - not so French brasserie, more American pinching the dollar. I know this is a new owner since 8/24, but...

Can Can has always been one of our favs and consistently good but today fell flat. The Cream of Mushroom soup was incredibly salty. In fact, the customer at the table next to mine remarked the same. I was surprised that the waiter asked me if I wanted it taken off the bill, when I didn't even eat it. That should've been a given. My daughter's Truffle Caesar was unremarkable. Where was the "truffle"? The service was outstanding and everything else was superior, but the food was not. I'm hoping this was a one-time blip, because Can Can has always been one of my go-tos in the Richmond Restaurant scene.

Lots of fresh flowers welcomed us at this busy bistro. Delicious steamed mussels with French fries, avocado toast with crab and French onion soup. Very good Bellinis and Sancerre. Shared a yummy carrot cake crème brûlée. Portions were a bit small but overall a very good lunch experience!

It is such a treat to dine at a restaurant where the service is so attentive and the food outstanding. Our waitress selected cheeses for our appetizer. There was something for every taste and we ate it all. Everyone enjoyed their entree, and the view onto Cary Street made for great entertainment. We will be back.

Bread basket is always delicious and my steak sandwich was also good……but the French Onion soup recipe seems to have changed:(. I’m not a fan of the newly added spices. Service was excellent!
