First time eating at this new restaurant. Nothing reminds you being in the Caribbean. Food just ok. My soup came out Luke warm, very small portion of grouper ceviche, shrimp tacos had little flavor. Prices high for portion size of soup and ceviche. I hope over time this restaurant makes it, but much work to do.

Calypso is a beautiful remodeled space in the Waterfront Inn. We had an enjoyable dinner with excellent service from Tammy. Drinks were generous and reasonably priced. A couple of comments, however. The new space is loud and makes conversations a little difficult. The food was very good, but the Jerk Chicken was served as a half bone-in chicken. This creates some serious work for the diner. We will definitely return.

The kitchen didn’t understand the menu. My wife ordered tuna poke nachos, supposed to come with avocado there was no avocado in her meal. I ordered the golf grouper was supposed to come with sweet potatoes. I finally found maybe one bite of sweet potatoes with no taste. My son ordered the Wagyu burger, medium which to me should be slightly pink. It came out, medium well gray. I certainly hope they get their kitchen taken care of. This could be a very nice restaurant. The drinks were good and the service was awesome .

Menu is extremely limited and the most expensive anywhere. Zero ambience. Honestly—it’s a bar only! The bar was full as we were the only ones sitting down eating at a table. $90 for a salad, hamburger, two cheese cakes, Diet Coke and ice tea. $50 would be too much. Never going back. Disgusted.

I was looking forward to this restaurant opening the venue is so nice with a waterfront view. I was also excited about the Caribbean theme. The choices on the menu sounded interesting but their descriptions didn’t live up to expectations. The fish in my fish tacos were rubbery and lacked seasoning with very little mango salsa and the aioli didn’t taste good. My husband had the grouper sandwich the grouper was dry and the Mojo sauce didn’t go with the sandwich at all it made the bread soggy. The service was very good so that was a plus.

To be fair, we ate there as hotel guests and because it just opened, they did not have a full menu yet. We started with crab soup and Ahi tuna which were both very good. My husband had stir fried rice and shrimp, which was fine but overpriced in my opinion and his as well, $32 for basically some Chinese food with a little bit of tropical flare, using roasted pineapple. I had a wedge salad and had I been thinking I would’ve asked to have the dressing on the side because that’s what I typically do. Not a huge fan of wedge salads, but that’s the only salad they had and I Was not hungry enough for an entrée. The wasabi dressing was so hot, I finally had to just give up continuing to eat it because it was becoming actually rather painful when my sinuses were burning with every bite. As far as ambience, we were expecting a bit more since this has been newly redone, but it’s very contemporary with a bit of an island feel. Nothing to drowned out noise so while it wasn’t too bad since there were only maybe six tables occupied, I would think it could become much noisier. We had a 20% discount as guests, and it ended up for the aforementioned food and two glasses of wine, I believe including tip we spent close to $120 which is a fairly good price overall
