   I have never experienced such a lack of attention to customers. It was my first time there and the couple next to us said “good luck we have been here 45 minutes and have had one drink each”. I knew we were in for an overpriced meal with horrible service. Fortunately for us we had one drink each and one appetizer. They never asked us for more drinks or our main meal. We were there from 9:30pm our reservations till 11 pm until our servicer asked me what did we decide on. I said “ you kidding me, it’s 11:05pm and I haven’t eaten all day”. I’ll take the check and I’ll never be back till you figure out how to run a restaurant. As we left we met up with another couple and the original couple that told us how slow the service was. We all decided to meet up on Las Olas Blvd to finally eat at midnight. City Tavern in Las Olas saved my night.

   I don’t mind spending a-lot of money in a meal that’s over the top but my complaint and you will hear it from others is the size of the portion. The size was fine for us because we don’t eat a large meal but my wife’s Halibut was the smallest I’ve every seen for the money, I guess I’m use to going to the Blue Moon or Kaluz. My Octopus was marvelous and the portion was fine the big turn off was the price of your wines( and you know it ) with so many other incredible restaurants it will be hard to come back Regards The Lauderdale’s

   We had a group of 14 for my wife’s birthday. The staff and food was amazing.

   Beautiful setting, great ambiance! But it felt like the restaurant was trying too hard to be something it couldn’t pull off. Menu is focused, not many choices. I ordered Caesar salad and then the apt octopus for my main. The waiter said, “I guess you are not hungry?” I told him i would be fine. My husband ordered a deviled egg - note one small egg on a plate. He ordered the halibut for a main. Caesar was great and octopus was actually larger than my husband’s fish main course. His halibut was great in taste. Desserts were fine although they forgot my birthday dessert? Another odd, felt silly moment was when I asked for salt and pepper. They brought over a 4’ pepper mill - just awkward! Last thing was their sides- didn’t like any of choices although we wanted to order something. Wound up passing w the idea of leaving room for dessert. Finally, bread was great.

   This is truly fine dining, Wow!!! I loved the linguini with (the way too tiny) pieces of lobster. The deviled eggs were different, but very tasty and the oysters were presented in individual oyster bowls and were very delicious. The server was knowledgeable and friendly and he recommended a great bourbon cocktail.

   My halibut was served raw so I had to send it back. They brought out a fresh plate that was cooked properly but was so salty I couldn’t eat it. They seemed overwhelmed and incapable of handling the crowd on a Tuesday night.

    Calusso is a beautiful venue and shooting for the 5 star level. Their service is impeccable. The food is excellent but very high priced for certain items, especially considering the portion sizes. We enjoyed our dinner very much
