We are fine-casual dining with a fire at the core of its heart. Through the smoke and whiskey ashes of the previous iteration which closed its doors in 2020 rises a new haze of smoke and whiskey as we bring back this iconic brand, smoked meats, bourbon, beer, deep hues, and various spaces to a new location in the North Loop. Butcher & The Boar will honor its beloved roots, while spreading new ones in the fresh foundation that will help our guests embark on a journey with notes of nostalgia that carry the torch forward with new tastes and experiences.

Master Distiller Brian Nation will be joining us for a meet and greet and to speak about their whiskey. For the last 7 years Brian was Master Distiller for some of the most renowned and high-quality Irish whiskeys in the world.

The service was beyond terrible. It took us more than three hours for an appetizer and main course. Our server was not attentive to us at all. We were never offered second drinks or dessert. For this kind of price one would expect some service to come along with it. We will not return.

My boyfriend and I went to Butcher & The Boar for Valentine's Day and it was perfect! The food was phenomenal— the long rib was so tender, the cheddarwurst sausage was delicious, the chive + sour cream mashed potatoes were the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Our server, Ian, was wonderful! He was attentive and fun! Highly recommend Butcher & The Boar!

Lighting although trying for a romantic night made hard to read the menu. The music was so loud could not have a conversation, had to ask for the volume be lowered. Glad to have gone, but one time is enough.

We had a wonderful Sunday brunch. We all really enjoyed our food! The location was convenient and it’s nice that parking is nearby. We look forward to going back.

For my first visit to Char Bar, the ambiance and bar service exceeded expectations. Despite the crowded Friday night atmosphere, the staff was attentive and efficient. A special shoutout to Ethan behind the bar—his extensive knowledge, great conversation, and stellar recommendations elevated the experience. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Great experience. There was parking issues and they took care of it. We have allergy issues and they took of us. Best customer experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Plus their food was delicious.

We just had one of our best meals out, ever! It was our second time at Butcher and the Boar and, if it’s possible, it’s gotten better! The place it beautiful…great atmosphere, and the server was excellent. She asked if we had any events or special occasions. Which we did…We were celebrating our friends’ new pregnancy, and we were also eating before the Timberwolves game. The server was great with any modifications that my pregnant friend needed, and she was very thoughtful to ask what time we needed to be out of there, so that all of the food came in time and was boxed up in time for us to make it to the game. Now onto the food. It was insane. For sides and appetizers we did the mac & cheese, brussels sprouts, and Texas toast. The mac & cheese was delicious without being overly heavy, and the brussels sprouts were unbelievable. Then we got the brisket burnt ends, the steak salad, and the giant spare rib, which came with a slaw on the side that added the perfect amount of crunch and spice. We shared everything (which I recommend), and the meal was amazing. Can’t wait to go back!

Happy hour in the speakeasy was off the hook. Highly recommend. But it’s noisy as heck.
