Bread Street Kitchen & Bar - The City is open in South Place, just minutes from Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Finsbury Circus. Bread Street Kitchen & Bar is an all-day dining restaurant that brings a distinct New York loft feel to central London. During the masterclass, you’ll enjoy a house cocktail on arrival followed by learning how to master a classic cocktail then a bespoke cocktail of your own - delicious results assured, no matter the spirit, style or taste preferences! On the way, you’ll pick up a bit of cocktail history and develop your knowledge of the fascinating world of spirits. It’s all complimented with a fabulous platter of snacks to share. I honestly expected a lot more from this. The price of the food compared to the service was almost terrible. It started off fine but our waitress was borderline unable to focus on our table. She seemed all over the place and failed to explain the Wellington experience properly at all. Our food was for the most part delicious, 2 of us ordered the Wellington experience. The beef Wellington had a great flavor, but it came out borderline lukewarm. It also came out LONG before the rest of our parties entrees. Once we all finished our entrees, our empty plates were sitting on our table for 30+ minutes and the waitress said our desert for the Wellington would be coming out soon. Which took another 20 minutes for it to come to the table. The desert was incredible, but the wait for it made it beyond annoying to sit there and wait. The waitress didn’t describe the Wellington experience well at all. She told us that it would come with 2 drinks for each person and once I asked for my second drink, she said “it will cost extra.” I was already annoyed at this point in the lack of service so I told her that I didn’t want another drink. 5 minutes later a new drink is brought out and she said “I got you one anyways” and I assumed she grabbed me another one on the house for the miscommunication. Once we finished desert, it took another 20+ minutes to even find our server to try and pay and leave. She was sitting at the host stand on a laptop and one of our party members had to grab her. She was unable to itemize the bill and told us to divide the total of the cost of each item on our own then we could tell her what we each were paying in the £ amount. Then she couldn’t even close us out herself and had someone else do it. Not only that, I was charged for the drink that the waitress brought on her own. Overall, I was very disappointed in the overall quality of service and was underwhelmed in the food department. Most likely will not return to a gordon restaurant in London.

We arrived early ahead of the lunch crowd but out order seemed to have been forgotten. Once it arrived it was good but didn’t blow me away so a mix of 3 -4 starts for this particular visit. Beautiful restaurant and attentive staff apart from the slip with the order

Service was incredibly slow. Probably due to there being lots of Christmas gatherings. In fairness they discounted our bill without us complaining which was a nice touch but having to wait 30 minutes after being seated before anyone asked if we wanted a drink let alone took our order is poor given the prices. The food was average and really not in line with the prices. Despite the discount which we were grateful for we are highly unlikely to ever return

Staff and service was great , lovely people and the lighting and cocktails are very good . But sitting on a table that’s wobbling all night isn’t enjoyable . Also sitting so close to the table behind where the waiters are squeezing through all eve is annoying . The chicken wings far too much sweet sticky sauce, almost overpowering . Really messy on the fingers . The finger wipes didn’t go far enough to clean my hands . Main meal was good .

Overall experience was good. Having had lunch at a table, we moved to the bar. This experience was poor with bar staff questioning the ongoing tab from the table. We were made to feel like we were trying a fast one. I did raise this with the staff as constructive feedback back Benedetta was amazing and turned a poor experience to a good one.

The food was absolutely brilliant, fantastically cooked. The service was excellent and regularly checked with us to see if we wanted more drinks.

Service was slow. It l took a while for our food and drink order to be taken. We were hoping to have a main course and desert but from the time we arrived 1.15 to the time we had finished our mains, it was 2.18 and had be to back at work for 2.30 so no time for desert. I appreciate food was cooked to order and it was delicious.
