    Was excited because of their write-up in the Chronicle, but it was just fine. Great drinks / wine, ambience, a couple standout items (steak frites!) - but many “meh” items and service was lacking (mixed up orders, long waits, etc.). Not worth the ~$75 a person for a proper dinner, but probably a good spot for just a drink and small plates!

    Loud- like very loud music so loud our seats were vibrating and we had to practically shout to hear each other. Service fine but not the friendliest wait staff. Food was good but not worth the price.

    Oysters, steak frites, a wonderful salad with perfectly cooked salmon to adorn it, the madeleines with the creme anglaise and the chocolate sauces in which to dip, it was all sublime. After several visits, we think that the Bar is the place to sit!! JPC

    Great restaurant! We drove in while vacationing in Santa Cruz. Conveniently located near the exploratorium (we took the kids there after lunch). Felt transported to a Parisian brasserie. Great food and service. Nice amount of natural light. Fairly quaint in size. A reservation would be a must. Budget extra time if driving to find parking. Highly recommend
