The Italian food in north beach is generally just ok but this spot actually knows how to cook. Coming from New York I didn’t think this would be a lot to ask, but it really is hard to find an excellent Italian restaurant in San Francisco. They don’t seem to be able to make marinara sauce out here or really anything Italian - this place is fantastic.

Always an amazing time at Bocconcino - the food was delicious, and had an amazing time celebrating my dad’s birthday! Rosario and all the staff at the restaurant were so friendly and welcoming - love this neighborhood gem whenever I’m craving Italian food!

I visited this restaurant with my girlfriends, and we ate so much that I had to order an entire meal for two to take home for tomorrow night. The food was delicious, and I loved the atmosphere. It was casual, relaxed, and unpretentious. The young woman who served us tonight knew her food and her drinks so well, and the server guy was very attentive. Every dish was carefully designed and cooked with a lot of joy and attention to details. All the desserts were made in house and to their perfection. What a great modern Italian restaurant that we discovered tonight!
