The cuisine of the Boathouse, created with distinctive flair is refined and contemporary, with an underlying element that echoes the classical French tradition of Escoffier.

The Boathouse experience begins with a drive along the shores of beautiful West Grand Traverse Bay and its sparkling blue waters.

When you dine with us, you get the best of both worlds: We are both locavores and connoisseurs of what the rest of the world has to offer, so you get the freshest, finest ingredients from near and far. Owner Doug Kosch adheres to the "farm to table" concept.

We had a wonderful dinner for Restaurant Week. The filet and lobster was a wonderful choice! Love the view of the bay! It is gorgeous! Jasmine and all others have us wonderful attention throughout our dining experience.

Our dinner at Boat House did not disappoint. We started with the wedge salad and lobster shrimp bisque. Great flavor and fresh! We had the duck and pork shank which was again full of flavor and cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the creme brulee, cheesecake and chocolate cake. Great ending the evening. Our waiter was great. He was attentive and fun. It was my husbands 60th birthday. They even delivered a birthday card with his dessert.

We wanted to love this place. First off it was way too loud our server couldn’t hear our order so a couple things were incorrect. The wedge salad was not a wedge just a couple pieces of lettuce with toppings. The lobster bisque was lacking in lobster. The steak was good and the duck was good. The crème brûlée was delicious. Overall too loud and don’t expect great service if you’re a small party. The waitstaff caters to larger groups.

While there were a couple of things I didn’t like the taste of (Set menu), I loved 95% off it and still well worth the trip. It was a great start to Restaurant Week!

We had a wonderful experience as always, this is our go to restaurant for a nice evening out together. The food is incredible and the service is impeccable! We always highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a high quality dining experience.
