Bluestone American BBQ features a Latin American spin on authentic low and slow traditions from the US BBQ belt. Chef Alvaro Malel draws inspiration from his Uruguayan heritage, and his passion for cuisines from both American continents to reimagine smoked classics like Yearling Beef Short Rib with chimichurri, and Pit-Braised Pulled Lamb with salsa criolla and arepas.

His talent for bringing together the best of North and South American food traditions has been a drawcard for diners across Melbourne since the restaurant opened seven years ago. He credits the success of Bluestone to his Uruguayan culture and heritage, which is all about “food, family and fire…BBQ is a feature of all my best memories. There’s no better way to celebrate milestones, or to just kick back and have fun with the people you love. Bluestone has always been about creating that experience for other people.”

                                                                                                                                            Had a lovely experience with my family this past Sunday for a lunch service, we arrived an hour early and they were able to Still be seated and served. Our server was really professional and explained our menu he was accommodating and answered all our questions. The food was tasty with good flavour, we had a great selection of meats and sides off the menu. Left with full bellies. Thanks again for having us.

                                                                                                                                            Saturday night we had the pleasure of dining at Bluestone American BBQ, I can confidently say that the food was nothing short of amazing. Each dish that graced our table was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that danced on our palates. The chef truly knows how to elevate classic recipes into extraordinary culinary experiences. However, what made our evening even more special was the service we received. Thanks to our wonderful server from Argentina, our experience went beyond just a meal; it felt like an event. He was incredibly polite and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed while also adding a warm, personal touch to our evening. His recommendations were spot on, and his enthusiasm for the dishes only heightened our anticipation. It’s not often that you find both outstanding food and top-notch service in one place, but this restaurant delivered on all fronts. We left feeling satisfied, not just from the incredible meal but also from the exceptional hospitality. Thank you to our Argentine server for making our visit memorable! We will certainly be back for more delicious meals and excellent service.

                                                                                                                                            Our server was absolutely amazing funny knowledgable and remembered all our orders and to whom they went to. We ordered alot of food and the only bad thing was the corn bread was a it dry and the pork ribs meat was dry. However all the mac and cheese, chicken burger, brisket, fried chicken, chips, stret corn, Berkshire pork and the chicken chops was amazing delicious and juicy with lots of flavour!! And all our cocktails were heavenly especially loved the carribean and sneaky Isaac and cherry bomb!

Opt for one of the feasts… you won’t be left hungry. I asked to take my remaining food home and the waiter happily grabbed me a bag & container and minutes later came back with their smokey / spicy table sauce in my own jar for me to take away as he noticed I was using it so much at the table - great service!! 5* all round

We had the set 3 and it was delicious with plenty of food. The meat was tasty and the sides were a great addition to break up all the meat. The cocktails and mocktails were top notch. Unfortunately no one had room for pie - will have to try it next time. Thanks for a great experience
