BLUE MOON BISTRO of Beaufort, NC; Casual fine dining experience with superb service team, a creative and well-stocked bar, & TWO chefs sharing in our culinary leadership of French/American cuisine.

CHEF JAYSON FOSTER graduate of CCCCP; Culinary Arts student who studied in France under two-starred Michelin Chef Marc Meurin. A stalwart on the Beaufort Food Scene, Jayson has cooked at Chef’s 105, Circa 81, and at Aqua, where he was the Chef for 10 years. In 2012, Jayson and team won the Fire on the Docks Competition in Wilmington, NC.

CHEF JOSH MACKLIN, Honors graduate of CCCCP, Josh ALSO went to France to study with two-starred Michelin Chef Marc Meurin. Josh joined Floyd’s 1921 as banquet chef. He has worked at Circa 81 as Chef/Restaurant Manager for 10 years. He then joined the Oysters and Pearls group, opening Catch 109 and Executive Chef for Table 9. Josh loves how food brings together families and friends. He is a proud believer of food being a bond we all share.

Blue Moon Bistro is an absolute masterpiece of dining perfection! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty with service that was as warm and inviting as it was flawlessly attentive. The staff anticipated our every need, making the entire experience feel seamless and utterly luxurious. The food? Simply divine. Each dish was a testament to culinary brilliance, bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and crafted with an attention to detail that left us in awe. Every bite was an experience in itself, and the balance of flavors was nothing short of genius. And let’s not forget the drinks—oh, the drinks! Each cocktail was a work of art, expertly mixed and served with flair. From the first sip to the last, the flavors were bold, refreshing, and perfectly complementary to the meal. Their drink menu alone is worth the visit! Blue Moon Bistro doesn’t just set the bar for exceptional dining—it redefines it. This is a place where unforgettable memories are made, and I can’t wait to go back!

Went on busy Saturday night after securing last minute reservation. Had heard rave reviews about food, which were absolutely correct! Shrimp & scallop pasta was delicious, seafood cooked perfectly. Seasoning of fish was spot on! Husband had red snapper special which he also rated 5 stars. Restaurant was very crowded and loud, with lots of people having holiday meals. Difficult to converse and service was bit slow. Expected both, but food quality made up for it. Servers were doing their best to keep up, which we commend.

We just love Blue Moon. The service is superior, the cocktails are the best in Beaufort, and the food is outstanding. Yes, this is my favorite restaurant in town. My wife and I each had the kale salad with either the filet or scallops added. I had the boysenberry Manhattan- omg it was the best!

The fresh catch is always superb, and on this autumn night our table especially enjoyed the French onion soup, pimento and collard tart, and the Brussels sprouts as starters. Lara was kind enough to recommend a perfect wine to pair with dinner as well.

My partner and I came in for a romantic date night and as soon as we walked in, I was amazed. This is definitely the nicest restaurant I’ve been in; very fancy. We were sat very quickly at a cute table for 2, all set up with silverware and a lot candle. We didn’t wait long for great service. Some items on the menu I thought were a bit overpriced for what they were; in my opinion I don’t think that the shrimp pasta should be $39. It was very good but it wasn’t very special in the flavor profile. I had the lobster bisque and instantly fell in love and the beignets were my absolute favorite part. I would come and dine again and be very happy with the experience.

Everything was absolutely delicious. Best lobster bisque I’ve ever had. Beignets were delicious. Great espresso martini. Can’t wait to visit again.

We really enjoyed the cozy ambience on a chilly evening. The kale and apple salad was delicious. One helping was plenty for two. The special coquille st Jacques was delicious and subtle. The crab cakes were simple and tasty although quite pricey. I enjoyed a glass of the South African white. Overall a very pleasant dinner. Service was speedy. We were out in an hour!!

Excellent service. Interesting history of the restaurant as told by one of the owners at our table. Lovely warm cozy decor. Nice background classy music. It is an old quaint house. Food was excellent except my risotto was a bit salty. The beignets were tasty but heavier than the ones in New Orleans. Cocktails are interesting. Lobster bisque good but not hot enough temperature wise. It was also a bit spicy. Flavors good. The snapper was wonderful. The sauce had chili oil. This chef likes to spice it up where I prefer some dishes just toned down some. My husband loved the tuna dish. It was served over mashed potato mixed with a root vegetable. What ever happened to a smooth delicious mashed potato? The onion soup was good. Not heavy like some. I would go back here and try the pork chop.
