Blade 1936 is an upscale casual modern Italian restaurant which took over the historic Blade Tribune and News Building in Oceanside. Blade 1936 features authentic Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza. Our menu features fresh pastas, local seafood, steaks and sinful desserts. We have Vegan and Gluten Free menus.

Featuring two private dining rooms, Blade 1936 is the perfect venue for your special occasions. Our private wine room seats up to 60 guests and the Chef table seats up to 10. Our outdoor patio is perfect for dining al fresco with your pet.

Gnocchi were mushy and somewhat cold, though the sauce had a good flavor. Pizza crust was great but the rest of it was bland. Service was overall very good.

I never send food back but this time I did. They way undercooked the risotto - it was crunchy. Needless to say I ordered something else. And rather than comp my meal they made me pay for it. Not coming back here anytime soon. We have been here one other time and enjoyed it and recommended it to others but now not so much.

Made a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated even though people who came after me without a reservation were being seated. Emma the waitress was great. Pizza and pasta were amazing. Salmon was ok

Highly anticipated for this dinning experience for a romantic night with my wife. After we were sat down it took 15 minutes for a waiter to come by and take our drink order. When our appetizer came the calamari was very undercooked to the point that you can read other people faces when their calamari showed up. The entree was good but for an Italian restaurant you can’t mess it up. For dessert we ordered the sorbet and when it came it was freezer burnt and inedible. It was a preset menu that cost $75 a person and when we informed the manager and owner they only discontinued $10 on the meal. So essentially we paid 75$ for a plate of pasta. Absolutely terrible experience and will never return and if I could give no stars I would.

The service was wonderful. Everyone was very welcoming & attentive. My water was never empty. Our waiter made great recommendations for us. The gluten free pizza we ordered was delicious as was our salad. The made fresh daily tiramisu was the best I’ve ever tasted! We will definitely return.

The food is always good. That said, please bring back the stuffed gnocchi. I ordered the beef ravioli, and it was good, however I was hoping for more sharpness from the gorgonzola cheese. Also, a couple pieces of warm Italian bread at the end of the meal would have been perfect to mop up all that great sauce.

Do you overall experience was outstanding, however, we had a party of five in the app only let us book for four people. I did call the restaurant to let them know that we would be adding on another person for a total of five, and they were able to accommodate us. Around the food was excellent so what’s the service.

The pizza at Blade 1936 is AWESOME! The dough is tender and easy to chew. Full of flavor. The char is perfect. The best pizza outside of Napoli Italy for sure. 😋
