Blade 1936 is an upscale casual modern Italian restaurant which took over the historic Blade Tribune and News Building in Oceanside. Blade 1936 features authentic Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza. Our menu features fresh pastas, local seafood, steaks and sinful desserts. We have Vegan and Gluten Free menus.

Featuring two private dining rooms, Blade 1936 is the perfect venue for your special occasions. Our private wine room seats up to 60 guests and the Chef table seats up to 10. Our outdoor patio is perfect for dining al fresco with your pet.

We always plan one or more dinners at Blade 1936 during our O'sides trips. The owner always comes around to every table to check on your dining experience.

Literally the best meal I have ever had. It can be fancy enough for date night, but is casual enough to pop in with a t-shirt on. Service is phenomenal, stops by managers/owners/chefs--I can't say enough. Go....soon!

Drinks, appetizers, entrees all delicious. Sat where heater blower was pretty strong. Next time will ask for a different table.

We sat at the bar for dinner and the bartender was very distracted by all his friends who kept coming in. He was quite inattentive and uninterested in our service all night. Appetizer was the cauliflower which was good but the pasta (rigatoni verdura) was quite bland and the added chicken was like pre-packaged strips just thrown on top. We added salt, pepper, chili flakes and cheese and that helped a bit but felt a whole lot like a basic jarred sauce. Really disappointing for what we paid. We will give it another shot and try something else and NOT sit at the bar cause I really wanna like this place!

Been to Blade about six times and although the food is very good, it's SOOOO loud in this restaurant. Last night was the worst. Whether you are sitting across from a person or right next to them it was very difficult to hear them. My voice was strained by the end of the night because I felt like I had to speak loudly for anyone to hear me. None of us could hear our waiter either. This restaurant is in dire need of sounds absorbers on the floor, walls and ceiling. I wasn't looking for a quiet dining experience, I knew what to expect but my most recent experience was ridiculous. With regards to the food, it was very good, perfect al dente pasta and delicious appetizers.

We went in on a Monday night to celebrate an anniversary. It was fairly busy we think because of the all night happy hour, but regardless it was a wonderful experience. Food came out quick and was very flavorful. It took a few minutes for our server to come over and acknowledge us and get our drink order, but he was very attentive from that moment on. We will recommend this spot to our friends for sure.

Both my husband and I enjoyed our dinner. Our server was friendly. Parking was difficult on street parking.

Authentic Italian cuisine, diversified menu with reasonable prices located in an energetic sports bar scene. Friendly and attentive service. Outstanding Tiramisu.

The food was amazing. Service was great. We came in with our 98 years old mom and everyone was amazing. Blade 1936 never ever disappoints!!!!!
