Blackwall Barn & Lodge has menu options for everyone. I haven't had a bad meal yet. Come hungry, because the portions are large. The service is great as well as the ambience. They have a bar, private rooms and a great brunch!

Food and service was pretty good. I got the shrimp scampi pasta, lady got the shrimp/scallop risotto. For dessert the bread pudding, overall it was good but none of the food/service was anything out of the ordinary. I will go back at some point, nice to try new places.

I think it must have been a bad day, since I had been there before and the food was good. This time it wasn’t. Went there for lunch and ordered the chicken pot pie. The chicken was so tough I couldn’t chew. The shrimp scampi wasn’t good either, overpowered by the sour tomatoes and clumps of cheese. The manager was very accommodating and took both entrees off the bill.

We were early for our Tuesday evening reservation but seated right away. I notified the hostess that we were waiting on one person. Waiter came over within a minute or so and we also told him we were waiting. He came over 3 times before she got there asking us if we still wanted to wait. Mind you, she wasn’t late, we were early. Calamari was good. French onion soup had way too much cheese, and I love cheese. Salad was overdressed, I should have asked for dressing on the side, and the chicken was very overcooked and dry. Pasta was decent but not extraordinary. Mid meal, the birthday girl ordered a blueberry lemonade but our server never brought it despite refilling our water several times. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but there was nothing spectacular for the price. Would I go back, probably not.

Had a wonderful time with my wife. The food was excellent overall. The bacon steak is a must have!! Absolutely wonderful. The crab cakes were a bit on the dry side, but still very good, and the raspberry white chocolate cheese cake was excellent. The server seemed new and could have been a bit more attentive. He was very friendly. Overall, we had a very nice dinner.
