Expect the Unexpected at Black Walnut. Concept owned by Chef Andrew Black – a 2023 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef Southwest, and a 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Chef. Blending American cuisine with the neighborhood’s cultural history, the menu is eclectic and vibrant. Banquet style and plated menus are available when booking the entire dining space. This space seats up to 30 for a typical dining experience, but the room can hold up to 70 for a touch-and-go setting.

Everything was not as we expected, it was more. We enjoyed every bite and everything on the plate paired well with each other. It has been years since I’ve sent back a totally clean plate back to the kitchen sinks. You will not be disappointed.

The atmosphere, food, and service was excellent and very good. No complaints from us. Went there for Valentine's Day snd they were all very inviting and courteous. Loved it and shall be back again.

Food and service was great. Only bad thing is the bar didn’t have not 1, but 2 of the drinks I tried to order.

My experience at Black Walnut was superb! The staff made my solo birthday dinner so fun! Every drink, dish, and dessert was delicious especially the lavender chicken! I will be back for that dish for sure! The restaurant is a cute place and the music selection was top tier, oh to do a happy dance eating, drinking, and being merry! During my visit, I text everyone to let them know to come here or that we’re going together in the near future!

We had a fantastic experience at Black Walnut! The staff was thoughtful and kind. They interacted with us and found out that we were there to celebrate my husband. They gave us two glasses of champagne to commemorate the occasion. To our surprise, they gave him a card with a handwritten note! But the food was fabulous! My husband had the lamb rack and I had the beef short rib with tagliatelle. OMG! That beef short rib was so freaking tender. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the tomatoes were bright and provided a nice break from the delicious full flavor of the beef. It was so delicious! We also shared the signature black walnut loaf. The cake crumb was light and just sweet enough. The homemade caramel was so buttery. So good! We will be visiting Black Walnut again when we are back in OKC. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I went for an early Valentine’s Day date and enjoyed our meal! Our waitress was wonderful, so sweet and helpful as we weighed what to order from drinks, to apps all the way through dessert. Our favorite would have to be the baked chèvre, it was SO good and my husband typically doesn’t even like goat cheese. We subbed carrots and celery for the ciabatta since we aren’t eating much bread these days and it was perfect with some left to bring home. Our second fave was the chocolate gf cake (even though we originally had zero intention of ordering dessert but couldn’t resist) which I would say is more like a torte, so rich with great quality chocolate and apparently made at La Baguette (owned by the same group). My dinner was the coconut curry tofu with saffron rice which was good but so very rich, I ended up bringing home 3/4 of it to eat another time. My husband had the chicken which he enjoyed as well. Overall, it was a great experience. My only regret would be that I could’ve probably dressed more casual, most guests were in jeans or business casual. Would definitely go back though!

Excellent experience at Black Walnut! We loved everything : chèvre appetizer, Brussels Caesar, lavender chicken and the beef rib tagliatelle, and would definitely order the same things again! Outstanding!
