At the Black Dog Bar and Grille, we try our absolute best of accommodate seating requests, though we cannot always guarantee them. If your interested reservation time is not available please feel free to give the restaurant a call at anytime at 860.928.0501 & we will try our hardest to fit you in!

Welcome to The Black Dog Bar & Grille! We pride ourselves on amazing food, good drinks & exceptional service.
Start off with with one of our signature appetizers and don’t forget to pair it with one of our tasty specialty cocktails, 16 draft beers or canned craft beers. Follow it with one of our juicy hamburgers, gourmet salads, sizzling steaks, seafood, chicken dinners or indulge in something from our 12 hour slow cooked BBQ pit. This is one of my favorite restaurants by far, a little further drive, worht it every time. Their food and service have always been good, always trying something new.

The staff here really hustles and really have great cohesiveness. The food came fairly quickly even though the place was packed. The server was very nice and attentive. The price is in line with most decent restaurants. The food has mixed reviews, their meats are very good, soup was good. My wife got fish and chips, I have no idea why at a smokehouse. The coleslaw was not good, fish was nothing to brag about. My burnt ends were very good, prime rib was good. Overall it was good, we will go back and give it another try with friends.

We were in town passing through Putnam and made lunch plans with my cousin who lives in the area that we hadn’t seen for a while. Found on Yelp and made a reservation. We were welcomed and seated quickly. We had great service and the food was delicious and good sized portions. We all had burgers, lol! The manager stopped by to say hello and see how things were going. All in all, a great choice!
