Bistro Freddie is a 45-cover restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch showcasing the best in British produce and French wine.

The menu is inspired by classic British and French gastronomy. Expect seasonal starters, bold mains and pies to share, as well as larger cuts of meat cooked over fire.

Curated by Alex Price, Bistro Freddie’s all-French wine list focusses on real wines that reflect a sense of place. The wine list takes a deep dive into all corners of France, exploring a variety of styles, regions and producers.

I’ve eaten at bistro Freddie before which was amazing. However with my most recent visit, we were really looking forward to having the steak. We went to order the bavette steak, however were recommended by the waitress to try a different ‘more tender cut’ called the Devon. However when it arrived it was really tough and we regretted this choice immediately. Unfortunately it tainted our anniversary meal which was a shame and we were to embarrassed to say anything to the waitress, as didn’t want to cause a fuss.

Food was excellent and service was very attentive without being overbearing. It is a small space so when it's full it can get a bit loud but we didn't find it distracting. Seating is also very close depending on where you're placed and some tables I just wouldn't put people there (one right by the door and one set next to the kitchen entrance). Dishes are priced quite high so the bill can stack up quickly although

All of the food is very salty! Wouldn’t reccommend. The only food that was good was the bacon.

My third visit to BF, and was not disappointed. Fresh cooked food, in this little gem of a restaurant, friendly staff, great ambience, if I lived in London, I would eat there more often!

We heard great things about Bistro Freddie and were excited to try it. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. As a couple, we often like to sit at the bar—it usually lends itself to a nice experience. However this night it seemed like the kitchen was having a very off night and the vibes were very awkward. Overall the food was tasty, but the service was bad and inattentive, and it took a long while to get our food. It seems that there was just a chef turnover, and while I wasn't thrilled but would consider giving the restaurant another chance.

amazing service, food, and atmosphere. The Steak tartar was phenomenal and the gnocchi was the best we've ever had. The service was fantastic, food came out quickly and in a lovely order. Dessert was lovely. Fantastic restaurant, food, vibe, everything. Perfect for a special occasion or date night.
