Out of passion, tradition, hard work and integrity, Bavaro’s opened its doors in March 2009 as the first traditional Neapolitan Pizzeria in the state of Florida. Determined to share their family recipes with the world, Dan Bavaro, his wife Anna-Maria, and their five beautiful children packed their U-Haul, left their friends and family, drove from New Jersey to Tampa, and set out to provide for others the same love, energy, and authenticity that they experience around their own dinner table.

Si no se tiene reservación, te dejan esperando por horas como un 0 a la izquierda y ni siquiera te muestran una sonrisa, tuvimos que reservar ahí mismo para poder comer, no tienen todas las variedades de otros Babaros, viajamos una hora porque nos gustó mucho cuando estuvimos en el de Tampa, Pero a este de Sarasota no vamos más.

We are at the bar. The service was great. Our only issue was that our pizza was burned black. It was quickly replaced.

Food is quite good but the service is not. Waited a long time for someone to come to our table and then all the food arrived at the same time- instead of having our salad before our meal. And the food was lukewarm.

Caesar salad dressing not flavorful and very pricey. Ravioli and meatballs were very tasty, a vodka sauce instead of plain. Bread with meal was gummy, not baked. Tre carne pizza very good, plenty of meat and nice crust. It’s not NY style. It’s Neapolitan which I enjoy. Very large pizza, brought half home. Very nice atmosphere unlike most places we have been. Prices high for cocktails. Ran out of the dessert I wanted.

Doug did an outstanding job of taking care of us again. HH drinks were very good at a great price. Entrees were good as usual.

We love Bavaro’s! The food and atmosphere are always wonderful. Unfortunately, one of the chef’s left early last night and the food orders were very backed up. For a 7:30 reservation, we finally received our entrees last, at 8:15pm, though we were not the last couple seated, and should have received our entrees in the correct queue. And, when the food was ready, the server brought our food to the wrong table. We were patient and our waitress took 20% off our bill, which we did not ask for, but was a very nice gesture. Again we also can’t complain since we had purchased their Black Friday gift card special which gave us $100.00 of free dining. Slips happen and we will be back since we truly do love that restaurant. We are very glad that they are open and survived the hurricane!

Bavaro's of Sarasota is absolutely the best of the best - our every Friday night dining feast. From their authentic wood-fired Pizza Napolitana, to a wide array of uniquely prepared appetizers and main dishes, they are sure to satisfy every craving. Be sure to save room for dessert where you will enjoy delicious cannolis made from scratch in their own kitchen, along with gelato and more, and the best espresso anywhere for a smooth and satisfying finish. Enjoy indoor or covered patio dining where the weekly music provides a perfect setting to relax, eat and enjoy.
