    Nice modern establishment close to shopping and hotels in Waikiki. Food was excellent and full of flavor. Tried their signature Pork Belly Fried Rice and Loco Moco dishes.

    We chose Basalt because of the positive reviews. We loved the location, it is toward the back of a deli-like area near the international market. Very cool. The restaurant itself is she and indoor/outdoor. Food was great service was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I'm shocked there wasn't a line out the door as it was superior to many higher priced restaurants and the Waikiki area.

    Kian was a fantastic server! Knew the menu well and made appropriate recommendations. I had the price fixe menu with salad miso black cod and a chocolate hazelnut dessert. My husband had prime rib. Perfect for us to share 1 price fix. Sort of in a food court but you forget that once seated. A great meal, great service and a great value!

    Seated on the patio for lunch. Food was a little salty, but overall nicely prepared. Great environment and value

    Basalt serves consistently good food. Service is excellent, especially from their culturally respectful local staff. It's a great hidden gem, even though it's in Waikiki.

    Black bao with pork belly was delicious! We would come just for this dish. Prime rib sandwich with fries was good too. The Cesar salad with catch of the day fish was ok but probably wouldn’t order it again. The fish was a little overcooked and the lettuce was cut in chunks, some of which was the ends of the romaine. Service was spot on, from the host to the server.

    I was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast, but she cancelled the night before so I couldn’t find anyone else to go with so I went by myself. I couldn’t let the reservation go to waste. It was so worth it! Everything was so yummy!
