Inspired by the parrillas of his native Argentina and the hip enclaves of contemporary Buenos Aires, Chef Javier Bardauil brings the art of live-fire cooking to Detroit at BARDA — a modern steakhouse where ancestral traditions meet out-of-this-world innovation. The BARDA kitchen relies solely on a wood-burning grill and oven, ensuring that every dish is either flame-cooked, fire-kissed, or served raw, showcasing premium cuts of meat and high-quality seafood and vegetables prepared to highlight their natural flavors. The thoughtfully curated South American wine list and playful cocktail menu provide artful balance to the fire-infused cuisine. Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Detroit’s first Argentine restaurant, BARDA roared into Motor City in 2021. The steakhouse’s open kitchen is a showcase for Buenos Aires native and chef Javier Bardauil’s exciting live fire cooking, which earned the restaurant a James Beard nod for Best New Restaurant in 2022. superb place, wonderful for a date night, but honestly a win for every occasion. Food is a dream, from cocktails to desserts and everything in between, all the food that comes out of that fire kitchen is a dream. Been there more than 5 times and keep recommend it to my friends. Exceptional place, congratulations Chef Javier and all the team. Also exceptional service as well!

The "short" rib was one of the best we have ever eaten. Easily enough for 2. The burnt Baked alaska was a wonderful dessert. On the small size, so for one or two people. Delicious cocktails. Loved the steak tartare (bone marrow was terrific). Great burrata app. Great charred caesar. Love this place. HIghly recommend.

My first time going to BARDA was such a great experience. They have a friendly staff that is always making sure you have everything you need, the drinks are strong but well balanced, the food is high quality and is incredibly flavorful. I love everything about this place and that’s why I chose to come here again for my birthday. This is one of my fav restaurants! I can’t wait to try out their sister restaurant Puma.

The food was very good. Service was good, but could have been better for such a small place. Ambiance is simplistic for the culinary fare.

Everything was great! Our bartender/server was awesome. The bar seating and decor are worth the trip alone. The beet rose, ceviche and wine selection were great as well. Looking forward to coming back in!

Food and service was great, the atmosphere was nice too. I'd recommend BARDA and definitely plan to go again.
