   Bar Susu has a nice ambience and decent service, but the food was disappointing. Most dishes were overly salty and lacked balance in flavor. For the price, the portions felt small, and the taste didn’t justify the cost. While the atmosphere is enjoyable, I wouldn’t return for the food. Might be worth a visit for drinks, but not for a full dining experience.

   We got their dine out menu and it was great!! For sure would recommend Bar Susu if you are hoping to take your significant out for a fancy and great dinner.

   We tried their DineOut menu. The appetizers- bread, and beef tartare and hamachi were really delicious! However, the flavours of the entrees were a miss for me. We had the pork shoulder and the fish. The pork shoulder was cooked medium rare, which was not something we were used to- the meat was rather chewy. Personally, I think that cooking it through would have tasted much better. The flavors of the fish did not meld together well- each component of the dish seemed to have its own intense flavors- they didn't seem to complement each other. It felt like it needed a side dish or bedding of mashed potatoes or rice/risotto to complement it. The dessert was a bit underwhelming. The mousse was oddly warm. Appreciated the deep chocolate tones, but it did not standout too much. This is likely a good place to go for appetizers instead of a meal at fine dining price. We were also disappointed at their service. We reserved the booking with standard seating at least a week ahead and confirmed our booking. When we arrived, we were told they were preparing a table for us. However, they then gave us a seat by the door next to the bar- which was available from the start. I had to speak up regarding our booking for standard seating. This fall shorts of fine dining service and further discounted our dining experience. This place definitely will not be my first choice to revisit anytime soon.

   Excellent food all around, especially loved the Coppa steak and Steelhead trout. Great selection of wines too. Will definitely come back.

   Good food, but not good enough to justify the prices, especially compared to its sister Published. We were sat upstairs, which took away from the experience

   Did dine out Vancouver. $65 per person plus cocktails. Food and drink were both great and service was both friendly and attentive. The space is very welcoming with a familiar feel. Music choice was A+ too. Will be back.

    The restaurant is cute and the ambiance is nice. We were seated nearer the back next to a door that was either a cooler or led to the back alley. It was left open a few times and customers had to get up to close it as the draft was icey. Food was delicious A particular favourite was the beef tartare. We chose the dine out menu. Service was a bit all over but food was prompt once ordered.
