The neighbourhood Italian restaurant you’ve always dreamed of, Bar Prima features a luxurious atmosphere that evokes a sense of timelessness and nostalgia. The restaurant design captures an old-school charm with dimly lit ambiance, creating an elevated and elegant atmosphere. From Italian disco inspired music to vintage design touches, Chefs Craig Harding and Julian D’Ippolito have curated a space that feels as though it’s been there forever.

Bar Prima can at times feel opulent with its banquets and table lamps but can also feel relaxed and romantic. We seek to share our passion for food, beverage and hospitality, creativity and design with our open-minded guests!

    Join us on the 31st December for an evening of fabulous food and drink, as Bar Prima celebrates the end of 2024 and the beginning of the new year! We'll be running a special 7-course Set Menu for all parties throughout the night, showcasing some of Head Chef Nick's favorite dishes, with options to add on a perfect wine pairing, and even to enjoy an additional caviar service to kick off the meal in true style. Tables booked from 6pm will have a generous out-by time, enabling them to eat well before leaving for later plans, and those booked from 8pm are all invited to ring in the new year with us at Prima, where the Champagne will be flowing! The Set Menu is $180/pp. All drinks and additional options will be available to order on the night.

    The city needed a restaurant like this. Every single dish was incredibly delicious. The food was coursed out perfectly, presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Each dish was an experience in itself offering modern takes on staple dishes. A big shoutout to the chefs and the whole serving team. Highly recommend this place. 10s across the board.

    My favourite place in town. Italian classics made better. The spaghetti amatriciana was excellent and a must have !

    A great location for a late night out. Simple and inviting menu with great drinks. Standouts were definitely the Amatriciana, Scallops and Agnolotti. Apple crostata, with olive oil ice cream was the highlight of the evening. Service was professional. However the restaurant was slightly load for me. Still a great experience.

    Food was excellent. One of the best places I’ve ever ate. Service was great. Very cool little spot. Plates are meant to be shared but the portions are very very small.

    Delicious food. Great ambience. Very loud music. Service generally excellent - staff knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Failed to acknowledge was my friends birthday - slightly disappointing.

    One of the best menus I've had in a long time! Service was thoughtful and fun, ambience is incredible in there. Love this spot and I'll continue to come back.

    Our experience at Bar Prima was excellent. The service, all thanks to Rachelle, Andrew and the other amazing staff, were an added bonus to the experience. The food was amazing and you can tell the attentiveness and enthusiasm that is put into each dish. We enjoyed the two pasta dishes we got. Overall, it was a lovely evening.
