Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    Bar Mezzana's take on a classic Italian Tradition is now a week-long tasting menu! Experience a thoughtfully curated five-course menu featuring seafood, house-made pastas, vibrant entrées, and an indulgent dessert. Don’t miss out on the optional (but highly recommended!) wine pairing. Each course will be complemented by a handpicked selection of unique wines, curated by our own Ryan and Gemma from Giannoni Selections. The menu is available Wednesday, December 18th through Monday, December 23rd in the dining room, bar & lounge alongside our full dinner menu. This menu is available for $115 per person, with an optional $55 per person wine pairing. We ask that the full party participate. *menu & pricing is subject to change

    El crudo de Hamachi no estaba tan Bueno, la pasta muy buena, el servicio regular. En general me pareció rico y agradable pero no excelente......creo que está sobrestimado en las críticas

    On a Saturday night at 7 o’clock, the noise level was intense. Also on a weekend in December, it was cold both outside and unfortunately, inside as well. It’s a rather stark and minimally decorated restaurant. Does not give the feeling of warmth. The food was good however portions are very small, not what you expect for the money charged.

    We were a party of seven, some that like the basics and others that are more adventurous. Bar Mezzana was a perfect option with a lot of variety to accommodate all of us. Service was fantastic, water glasses always filled, empty plate/dishes cleared quickly and we didn't have to look around to signal our server when we needed to order additional drinks. Our server also was great to offer up suggestions on cocktails, food and quantities to order. He was engaging and did not make us feel rushed. We started off with bread and dips. The other dishes were brought out when as they were ready and at a good pace. Bar Mezzana serves dishes family style which was perfect for our group. We liked ALL of the dishes we chose. Some of the favs, the winter squash agnolotti, lasagna and tuan Crudo. Eggplant was good but could have done without/less of the greens on the eggplant, it was a bit too much. Thanks for a great evening.

    Service was pretty bad. They forgot to bring out the 2 appetizers we ordered and we asked to remove the almonds in one of the entrees, yet it came out with almonds. Luckily this was just a preference of ours but if someone had a nut allergy, that could’ve been bad. They also charged us the wrong tequilla that was more expensive. Food otherwise was delicious

    Everything we had was excellent. Tyler, the manager was very involved in helping the server and stepped in several times when we needed things. He seemed to be everywhere and it certainly helped to have an involved manager.

    Hard to say which is better, the food or the people, as both are among the best in the city. Great atmosphere and vibe, good options for gf, terrific wine list and cocktails. Go!
