Bar Crispin is an all-day restaurant & wine bar on Kingly Street, Soho, designed by Jermain Gallagher. Offering low intervention wines & seasonal sharing plates, it is a place for any occasion.

Our chefs are lead by Fabien Spagnolo (ex Frenchie, Pollen St Social, The Corner Room & Casa Fofo), with a wealth of experience he respects each ingredient, allowing us to celebrate great local producers & creating memorable experiences. The menu is broadly European inspired, focussing on locally & sustainably sourced ingredients from independent growers, small-scale farms & producers (think crispy polenta, croquettes, organic British vegetables, sustainable seafood, classic cuts).

Delighted to enjoy Bar Crispin with a January discount code. At full price it would have been v expensive but a lovely setting and delicious food, so maybe worth the treat.

Was okay. Venue is small and the tall chairs are a little awkward, but staff were friendly and music was good. The food was nice but nothing special. We tried everything bar the beef ribs and cabbage. Portions are v small for the price. Much better restaurants around offering the same small plates & wine vibe, so sadly wouldn’t return.

Bar Crispin: January Comfort with a Side of Elegance A quiet Tuesday lunch in January might not scream excitement, but Bar Crispin knows how to turn a grey day into a little slice of joy. Tucked away and effortlessly chic, this spot delivers every time—food, service, and a vibe that makes you want to linger. The crispy polenta with aioli and Parmesan is a must-order. Think golden, crunchy perfection paired with creamy indulgence. The black pepper butter cabbage was a revelation—simple, yet so flavourful you’ll wonder why you don’t eat cabbage like this every day. We also went for the Hartgrove coppa—silky, rich, and the perfect nibble to go alongside their expertly crafted margarita. The burrata with roasted pumpkin and pickled red onions balanced earthy, creamy, and tangy notes beautifully. And just when we thought we were done, the fried choux pastry with burnt honey caramel arrived, a dreamy end to a fantastic meal. Service was lovely, as always—attentive but unfussy. Whether you’re popping in for a quick drink (their cocktails are excellent) or settling in for a feast, you’ll leave feeling a little brighter. Don’t let January keep you in—treat yourself, order the polenta, and toast to a bit of fun-ary.

Would only recommend if you are able to sit upstairs. The downstairs is incredibly loud and poorly designed.

I enjoyed the evening and food overall but there were quite a few serious problems which would sadly mean I’d be very unlikely to come back or recommend this place. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and I can’t fault that however it was not made clear to us that our table would be needed back within 90 minutes. We ordered drinks (which came rather slowly and the portions of the cocktails was pathetic considering the price) The waiters seemed to be in no hurry to take any orders… Anyway, we ordered starters about 30 mins after arriving. Once these had come and gone and we had ordered mains we were told that we had to leave in the next 10 minutes for the next table. But by this point our mains hadn’t even arrived! So we were meant to eat all our main (which would hopefully arrive soon) and pay and leave in the next 10 minutes?? This is NOT how you treat customers. The server seemed very sorry and I don’t think it was his fault. We said we hadn’t been informed that we only had 90 mins as the atmosphere was super relaxed, the waiters weren’t particularly fast at taking and bringing food and drinks. So this was a really disappointing ending to our evening. The food overall was really good. Such a shame we felt under pressure to eat it all quickly and leave. I understand the fact they have different sittings but this should be clearly explained at the beginning, especially if we are misled into feeling there’s no rush (like many restaurants) We ended up being offered a 10 mins extra grace but it left a bad taste in my mouth. This place has so much potential but please listen to my points and make the improvements. Plus a £13 spirit should not come as a single measure - what a rip off / misleading menu. I’m sorry but I’m not sure l’ll be returning. I hope for you that things improve.

Food very mediocre, ordered whole menu. Three of the plates were cold. Bread seemed stale. Portions very small for price point. Seats uncomfortable. Somewhat saved by the wine and the service. Wouldn’t recommend

There is sort of idea with a bad execution . Fine dining prices with a poor paper napkin and sticky table. Very small menu - weak dishes yet there is a bit of hope. Good wine - and again - overpriced Nothing special.
