Our first time at Bar Chouette won’t be our last. Our server was excellent - friendly, efficient and good recommendations. We LOVED the prawn katsu sando and recommended it to the table beside us and they loved it too! Hanger steak tartare was delicious as well. Plenty to choose from and nice to be able to order a few plates at a time to share and to space out the meal. Thank you and we’ll be back!

We love this restaurant. The food is great, the service is always terrific, the ambience is contemporary and friendly, and it's well priced. Great spot to land on a Friday or Saturday evening or anytime really.

Absolutely outstanding food!! The restaurant is an intimate size with an open concept bar and kitchen where you can watch the chefs work their magic. Absolutely loved the oysters, and tortellini but the burrata was another level of delicious!! Definitely give this spot a try.

I have a background in restaurant management (Calgary Fine Dining), and although the service was personable, informative, and proficient… they forgot the fundamental principle of service. Make the customer (in this case, paying guest) feel welcome. At a 2-top, with a 7pm reso on a Wednesday we were ‘politely’? informed that they had another reservation arriving soon (at 8:45) and that we might have to move our meal (yes we were still eating at this point; after enjoying a cocktail prior to ordering our shareable multi staged plate choices ) to another presumably less convenient location. Upon pointing out the unconventional expectation (in what I hope was somewhat subtle), the predicted eviction was circumnavigated. However, at 10:00pm (while many patrons remained) we were unsolicitedly asked how we wanted our bill split. After paying, and finishing our last beverage (we weren’t sparing on our consumption, nor needy or obtrusive), at 10:30, we were effectively asked to leave. This restaurant was voted one of Canada’s best new restaurants. This wasn’t the neighbourhood diner, or the mall food court. We planned and paid the price of eating and drinking in an on trend destination. Bottom line: train your Gen Z staff the premise behind the industry they work in. If I wanted to pay to feel like I was inconveniencing someone, I would have bought my meal at my mother’s house.

We come here often for happy hour. Food is terrific, especially the raw bar items and the croquettes. Mercifully, most wine bottles are under CAD 100 even before the happy hour discount. It was packed this Saturday evening so pacing of the dishes was a bit haphazard.
