Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: "Chopped" winner Hamissi Mamba and his wife Nadia Nijimbere, both refugees from Burundi, pay tribute to the food from their homeland at this bright, community-driven East African spot. The multi-James Beard Award-nominated couple make hearty dishes like slow-simmered beef with fried plantains (nyumbani) alongside fellow refugees. Pro tip: a jar of the fiery habanero pepper hot sauce pili makes for a great memento from the meal.

The food was perfection. I now understand why there aren't any salt and pepper shakers at the tables. Absolutely unnecessary. Will be back as soon as I can!

Warm, friendly servers. The food was everything you would want-particularly on a cold day! Loved all the vegetables: who knew yucca was so great? Left us feeling satisfied and energetic for some great sightseeing. Took the D2A2 bus and the QLine to get here for lunch. Totally destination dining! Can’t wait to come either some others to sample everything else on menu.

We ordered their signature dish, Nyumbani with half coconut rice and half spiced rice. It was tender, flavourful and delicious! Staff were friendly and efficient. Great experience!
