   We came for brunch and had a mediocre experience. The Bloody Mary was very heavy on the horseradish, my food came Out cold and the poached egg was very runny on my Benedict. The staff was friendly but the dining room Is very loud if you’re looking for an intimate place to converse. If my egg was poached perfectly and food came out warm I would’ve given it one more star. But honestly the entire thing was just mediocre.

   Great food! Staff was very friendly and attentive. One of our favorite spots in Vacaville for a dining experience.

   Food was pricey but ok. My $28 dollar burger was overpriced but loved the homemade chips, pickles and pickled onions. My wife’s Salmon bowl needed more veggies and she said the salmon was not fresh and only ok.

   My moms 60th birthday deserve a great dinner celebration. So glad we found this spot. Cute spot. Great drinks. Appetizers were that - great appetizers - a tad small for the piece. However the rest of the meal and drinks were great! Would go back for dessert

   The polenta fries with cilantro crema was outstanding. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. The beet salad was delicious too.

   Food and wait staff very good. Management and prep staff a disaster. Only one bartender and one cook. I ordered a cocktail which did not reach my table for over 20 minutes! My dinner wine arrived before my cocktail. Our waiter apologized and did not bill us for the drink. Soup and main entrees delicious. I requested a simple cake dessert and once again it was 20 minutes to arrive. Our waiter explained about the short staff and that each order was completed in the order received. I noted that the patio area was nearly empty during our visit. I hesitate to think about how long our service would have been if both the inside and patio areas were full. My final unfavorable impression of the kitchen was seeing the cook and another staff member doing some sort of silly dance or something; very unprofessional and reflected poorly on the restaurant, especially given the ridiculous delays we experienced. Maybe filling orders would have been a better use of their time. Overall, we liked the easy ambience, attentive wait staff and fine food well prepared. Our carrot soup, fish and steak were excellent. The noise level was somewhat higher than we would desire, especially since we both wear hearing aids. However, the ridiculous delays definitely reduced our overall opinion of this establishment. Instead of a relaxing evening, we had to dash across town to our evening engagement. You could and should do better to match your high ratings, one of the main reasons we chose you. JES

   We love Backdoor Bistro. Great food, great service, and a cool vibe. Our waiter was awesome, as was the young lady filling water glasses and taking away plates. Everyone is always very polite. My only wish is that they would bring back their fried chicken and add it to the weekend menu. Also, a little surf and turf would be a perfect addition to the menu.

   Very nicely decorated for Valentine’s Day. 5 course pre fix menu was delicious! I was full by the time I finished my entree so I was only able to eat 2 bites of my dessert. It was delicious! My husband had enough room to finish my dessert for me. We both loved our meal!

    Food was very good and presentation was appealing; service was very good ; only wish ambience could be better, restaurant gets very noisy; overall food and service make up for the lack of ambience
