Nestled in the heart of historic Grand Avenue, Bacanora defies tradition with its ambiance, intimacy, and flavors. Born from the visionary mind of James Beard award-winning Rene Andrade, Bacanora isn’t just a restaurant; but rather an experience. Rene and his team have shaped Bacanora into a haven for those seeking a taste of home and a warm hug with hospitality. Sticking to the roots of Sonoran cuisine, everything is carefully crafted over open flame y puro amor at Bacanora. If he’s up, then Phoenix is up!

Parking can be found in the parking lot across McKinley from the restaurant, it is reserved for guests of Bragg’s and neighbors.

Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Bacanora abrió sus puertas en el centro de Phoenix en 2021 y causó tal impacto a nivel nacional que le llovieron los elogios del New York Times, Esquire y otros medios locales. Más tarde, Rene Andrade recibió el premio James Beard al mejor chef del suroeste en 2024. Wow! JUST WOW!! Brunch lived up to expectations and flavors were great. Started with the cucumber salad and it had just the right heat. Grapefruit mimosas were a favorite. I had the coffee rub short ribs with potatoes and golden yellow over easy eggs with a few fresh tortillas. Let’s just say I’m glad I saved a tortillas because I used the last one to clean the bowl. Delicious.

I can see why reservations are so hard to get at this restaurant. Just a few tables in the bar very intimate weight. Staff is quite attentive and helpful but the food is the star! started with the Elote and cucumber salad… both amazing. A little disappointed that you’ll only get one cob of corn With the Elote appetizer. We had the burrito and the pork shank….,just absolutely fantastic. We will be back.

Food was fabulous!! Our servers all explained the options and assisted in any way they could! I would go back tomorrow!! Food amazing!! Music- a little loud! Had the strawberry ice cream for dessert- WOW!! So yummy!! Had the 40oz steak and shared with 4 people- so good!!

Bacanora is a dining experience that should not be missed! This was our first experience with the “new” menu, and it did not disappoint. I definitely recommend sharing items!! The servers are outstanding and can help you make beverage and food choices that will leave you ready to book another reservation when you get home.

Phenomenal experience celebrating my husband’s birthday. Offered us bubbly on the house and comped the dessert 🍮 Everything we ordered tasted exceptional. We indulged in the 40oz ribeye platter we loved the family style serving and presentation. The appetizers we ordered were the elote 🌽 and the squash. Such ab awesome time we will be back.

It exceeded our expectations. Everything tasted great. The only part we didn’t like was that we were rushed out at 90 minutes.
