Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Bacanora abrió sus puertas en el centro de Phoenix en 2021 y causó tal impacto a nivel nacional que le llovieron los elogios del New York Times, Esquire y otros medios locales. Más tarde, Rene Andrade recibió el premio James Beard al mejor chef del suroeste en 2024. Todo ello se debe a la sabrosa cocina de Sonora que elabora Andrade, en la que destacan platos como los filetes tomahawk o las piñas colgando sobre llamas. Tonight was exceptional! Every bite I took was incredible! We tried 6 out of the 7 cocktails and they were all amazing, the table favorite was the ponche! We indulged in the elote, cabbage, ceviche, pollo asada, and the seafood feature and it was all packed with flavor and it was plenty of food for the four of us! We couldn’t resist trying both desserts and I would come back just to have the platano ice cream melt in my mouth! If you can grab a reservation take it! So worth it.

Had a great time. Bacanora lives up to the hype and definitely worth the wait. The food was spot on and cant wait to be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bacanora, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, actually greeted and “let in”, I was impressed by the Sonoran Mexico inviting ambiance. The decor was stylish yet cozy, making it the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The service was top-notch—prompt, attentive, and incredibly friendly. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect, which made the evening all the more enjoyable. We had a bar seat but that didn’t detract from the experience. Now, onto the food—each dish was a masterpiece. The appetizers were a delightful start, particularly the scallop ceviche, which was bursting with flavor. For the main course, we had the tomohawk steak , which was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. It reminded me of having Bistecca Fiorentina in Florence, Italy. The Hispanic vibe with beans, tortillas, etc, made it the perfect balance of textures and taste. The cocktails are expertly made, the old fashioned made with mescal was a fave. Overall, Bacanara exceeded all my expectations. It's a culinary gem that I highly recommend to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. We were also lucky to have Rene running the pass. Gladly can’t wait to come back.

The food is absolutely amazing. The service is good just hard when the server has a very low voice with music on. I’ve been twice and will continue to come back because the food is absolutely delicious.

Everything was delicious!!! Loved the new presentation for the charred cabbage and the addition of bread with it. Two comments that are just our personal preference: I miss the original Bacanorita drink (spiced rim and much stronger drink) and we wish there was an affordable beef option on the menu like the short ribs.

The music was a little bit too loud I couldn’t hear the conversation of my party but other that food and service was great!!

We were first time diners. The service, food and cocktails were great! We were disappointed that they were out of a couple of menu items we really wanted to try. Otherwise we were very pleased and will return.
